Oblivion NTSC Question

I live in the UK but I've got the US version of Oblivion and therefore the US latest patch.

I'm wondering if I could install the PAL version of Shivering Isles? Also could I run the game on a PAL disc? Or would I have to install the PAL latest patch?

does it even make a difference? would I have to somehow uninstall the US patch and then install the UK one? or would that require a reinstall?

but I had to use the US patch, since the UK one didnt work for my US copy of the game

so id need a US copy of shivering isles then?

PAL and NTSC are colour coding systems for *television*; nothing to do with computers or computer games. Shivering Isles comes in one flavour only -- there is only one English (UK/US) patch for it.

right. silly me

so there wont be any problems with using UK shivering isles with my US copy?

As far as I am aware, there was only one English version (US) of SI released for the PC -- the only regional versions released were for XBOX Live.

I think the reason for US/UK versions was primarily language. UK & US English are not precisely the same - but close enough where one patch worked for Shivering Isles. Using, for instance, a German version of a patch would have German replacing some of the text.

If I bought the 5th anniversary edition would I have to worry about the patches?

would reverting to the default version require a reinstall? or is there another way to do it?

bben I read your post on properly reinstalling oblivion some time ago...wouldnt want to do that again if I dont have to

No, because the 5th Anniversary Edition comes with Shivering Isles, and was released in Sept. 2011, so will be fully patched.
