circuitmewtwo
So, I Have a nice mod that adds a bunch of NPCs to hearthfire houses. I created a separate little mod that altered their appearances/races. When I made this mod, I correctly went through the steps of making the base .esp file a master in TESVEDIT, then changing it back when I was done. Everything worked great.Just today, I decided to open my addon file back up and fiddle with the carriage drivers, too. This time, though, I forgot to change the base mod to a 'master' first, so Creationkit scrubbed it out when I saved. I realized my mistake, made it a master again, re-opened and re-saved my addon... but now all of the character are registering as [DUPLICATE] in my addon and not overwriting. Is there a way for me to make them read as overwrites again, or else an easy way to copy the changes I made to all of the NPC from the duplicates over to the originals again? IsharaMeradin
Both the Creation Kit and TES5Edit should make backup files of your plugins that you save. Check those backups in TES5Edit. Hopefully, you will have one that has the proper master and where the records are properly overriding instead of duplicating. You may have to re-do some recent changes but that would probably be far better than the alternative. You could look to see if there are any TES5Edit scripts that could re-link the records. You can also, if the duplicate records are not many, copy and paste entry by entry from a duplicate into the a new override record within TES5Edit. There could also be some TES5Edit scripts that might assist with this too.

I kept digging and playing around after posting, and managed to find the Creationkit backup files. I never actually knew those were there. Found a good one, re-did the recent changes, and all is right with the world again. Thank you!
