A friend of mine owns a PvE Dayz Sever, which is currently running 1.7.4.4 Taviana.

The sever is run 24 hours a day, with a restart every 6 hours. Everyone currently playing is very extremely friendly and helpful, in total there are currently 155 vehicles available. The map itself is huge "Would take you many hours if you were to run non-stop from top to bottom", features many unique buildings and small islands but currently doesn't have a massive player base.

Which is why I decided to posted here, anyone is Welcome to join and as long as you follow the rules you will most likely have a good time.

General Summary of the rules

No killing of other players (It is a PvE “Player vs Environment” Sever)

No taking loot / vehicles belonged to another player

The official link to the sever forum is below.

If you have not played dayz, would like to know more or how to join then check below;

What is Dayz

Dayz is a Mod based on Arma 2, it is a Zombie survival simulation game where you must find guns, ammo, food, water, medical supplies, manage your blood and temperature levels doing your best to stay alive against hordes of endless zombies. Oh yea and it has boats, cars, trucks, bikes, planes, helicopters and anything else you can imagine :).

To Play you will need

Offical Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead (Steam or Non Steam)

Offical Dayz File - http://cdn.armafiles.info/latest/

Offical Beta Patch - http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

Tiviana 1.7.4.4 Map - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/96710904/DayZTaviana.com-1.0.rar

P.S The Dayz Files, patch and Map can also all be downloaded by

Dayz Commander - http://www.dayzcommander.com/

Dayz Bliss - http://dayzprivate.com/

Play withSix - http://play.withsix.com/

These third-party tools make it easy for installing the map and other files needed to play, and the links above are for people who might prefer doing everything manually.

Extra Information;

I should point out though, hopefully this month Dayz-Standalone will be released so unless you already own a legitimate version of arma 2 it would probably be best to hold out.

wow how did this miss me by? im such a big fan of zombies xD

well ill be jumping on that server as soon as dayz is released separately!

sounds like me kinda server :D

Dayz zombies are great zombies, too. Truly, genuinely, utterly terrifying. Normally I find zombies funny. These are not funny. They're bloody horrifying, nearly invincible monsters. But seriously, this sounds like a great server, and I can massively vouch for Dayz's worth as a game; I have yet to play a zombie survival game that has ever had anywhere near as good well, survival stuff. Think STALKER + Left 4 Dead. Fantastic little game.

one thing i would like to know, is it possible to setup a base....like nailing boards on windows and such like...because that would be awesome!

also i saw some tents in game, is it possible to get bivvy bags? (if u dont know what they are, they're like very mini tents, like just big enough to get a sleeping bag in)

In Australia, Good Game is probably our only magazine TV show for gaming, but thankfully it's actually a really good one. Dayz was their "quiet achiever"-their Indy of the year, beating some truly powerful opposition. I can totally recomend it, however I would warn that outside the PVE servers, this game is BRUTAL, complete with permadeath, a stupendously difficult to navigate map(deliberately so according to the designer) and some truly wicked players. PVE however is where it shines IMO, no game I've ever played makes you feel a sense of survival better. You'd love it.

During their initial review this year, they remarked that during their playtime with it, one of their reviewers got seperated and took nearly an hour to find the main group, and said that when they finally got re-united it was one of two times they'd cried all year, with the other being Journey, a perculiar game that I honestly think every gamer should try.
