First time modding, New Vegas crash on boot

I'm attempting to play around with mods for the first time, but have run into an issue I can't seem to troubleshoot. Whenever I attempt to boot NV, it immediately crashes, no matter if I'm loading through NVSE or the basic launcher. LOOT didn't detect any missing masters, and I can't spot any obvious failures in terms of not supporting mods properly. My load order is somewhat large, but it's below the 130 plugin limit so I don't think that's the issue. I also haven't merged any plugins so I don't think that can be a source of any issues either. I'm genuinely at a loss.

WMX-ArenovalisTextures is at the end because a mod guide I was using had said it should loaded at the absolute end, even after the bashed patch. I did have it earlier in my load order before, but it made no difference with the crashing.

Does the game start and run with no problems with no mods? The mods not just disabled, but uninstalled.

What are your system specifications? Where is the game installed?

Did you install all the mods at once and hope the game would run or did you install them one at a time and check in the game to see that they would run?

What and how many mods do you have installed that do not have an .esm or an .esp?

Yes, the game starts and runs absolutely fine without mods.

I'm running on kind of a craptop, Geforce 840M and an i7-5500u, with 16GB of RAM and 2GB of VRAM.

I checked if it would boot in stages, but stopped after having to make a bashed patch for every boot, so it booted fine with bug fixes and graphical overhauls, but somewhere in the gameplay-affecting mods it stopped working.

Non-.esp/.esm mods number maybe 15-20? I'll try to get a list together but I think they're all generally very minor textures or patches.

I should also mention, I did attempt an earlier, much longer mod list with more textures/ENB mods or whatever, and *that* was able to boot just fine, but it crashed on leaving doc mitchell's house and had general framerate issues, so I tried to scale back and not f*#@ with ENBs and use the least number of graphics mods with the most coverage. The actual gameplay-changing mods are more or less the same, so I'm not sure if those are actually the cause.

We REALLY need to see a "load order" as produced by "LOOT"; to include the main game and DLC files. (Screenshots don't work so well for the purpose.) With modded games its the sequence, not merely the list of mods, which is the cause of many problems. LOOT's sort gives a good first approximation, correcting the most obvious issues and is sufficient for most players. You can make minor adjustments to the order and tell LOOT how to remember them. It's in the on-line documentation under "Metadata". Instructions on how to copy it's list for posting are in the "How to ask for help" article, and "Checklist Item #11' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

Please see the 'Vanilla Load Order' entry in the 'First Timer Advice' section; and the 'Common Game Problems' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

If the problem persists, then see either the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' or the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' sections in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so. It is designed for someone who has never played a modded PC game before, so it tries to avoid making any assumptions, is kept "up-to-date", and covers years of "lessons learned".

As for repeatedly having to rebuild the Bashed Patch, you shouldn't need it for only 15-20 mods UNLESS more than one are directly affecting the same records between them. In which case suggest you only install one mod of each until you have a stable setup, and then work out the record level conflicts with the bashed patch as necessary.
