SSEEdit - How to make armor mod gender specific?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm trying to edit the NordWarUA's Vanilla Armor Replacers SSE mod using SSEEdit. I actually deleted the records themselves in the armor addon section as in right clicking and delete, rather than just removing the path for the female meshes. But the problem is that that now females actually wears the male mesh instead which is far from ideal. Is there any zedit script or any sort that just straight up remove all female records from a mod? Now I only want to use these changes for myself, and so have not asked the mod creator for his permission which I'm not sure if that is ok?

Any help appreciated

There is no way to make an armor truly for a single gender. You can avoid linking meshes for the female but that could result in invisible body parts, male armor used or an outright crash of the game. Better to provide something as an alternative even if it is a basic commoner outfit in appearance. Otherwise you do not give said gear to any female characters.

You might be able to put a script on the armor that if equipped and the actor's gender is female to then force it to be unequipped, but the game might not equip anything else on its own. You could alternatively via papyrus script remove the gear completely from female NPCs if the armor is given to them.

Ah that reminds me, some armor from mods that are "female only" or vice versa I believe makes the armor invisable if worn by "wrong" gender. So yeah that has to be it. Thanks for clearing this up! I'm working on replacing the female armor and some male armors as I see fit with a custom esp.
