Robspeed23
If you are uneilling to give a former modder help, move on. I don't need your sass or sarcastic comments. I dropped out of the modding scene around 2007. I've recently decided to get back in, but have stumbled across a major roadblock, I now prefer to game on consoles as opposed to PC due to cost and convenience. Don't bother judging me, I've been apart of the master race before, but have been humbled by my love for gaming regardless of platform. I started modding with Age of Empires AOE2, and then Final Fantasy XI. I even tinkered with modding on WoW(disbelievers move on, it was possible, especially on private servers). The community was far more helpful back then, y'all just piss me off. If you really loved creating mods and gaming, platform would not matter. Stuff your ego and give people a chance to enjoy your creations. I thought that was the whole point of sharing mods. Asking y'all to port mods is pointless, I've read enough posts to see this. All I need is help with is to understand the WCK and modding as it is today. And permission to port mods wouldn't hurt either. I don't want credit for your work, but if you look at whats available on nexus as opposed to what console users have, it's an f'ing joke. Seriously. I don't expect anyone to respond positively to to this, and I don't care, I can learn this on my own, it'll just take longer. But know this, I was modding before some of you were born, and had an easier time of it with less resources. And less internet. Eat that. ~Climhassard~
DocMoebius
You do realize that it's virtually impossible to port a lot of mods over to consoles, because afaik: A) Sony doesn't allow external assets, so mods could only use vanilla stuff and B) XBOX's size limit. Certain mods are several hundreds of MBs or even GBs.
StormWolf01
Heyas Clim.Ok, so before I post anything else, I wanna say that I'm reading this with an open mind. But ummm.... this pretty much reads a lot like more of an angry rant, than it does a request. And as far as asking for help, all I see is mention of a "WCK" which, I know absolutely NOTHING about. I know that a CK exists. Is that what you're talking about, the Creation Kit?I mean, we have an entire section of the forums for help with that. Some subjects people really know about and can help out with, some subjects the regulars just Don't know about, so they keep quiet about. As for why some of the modders won't port over? You can blame Butthesda and some of the modders there, for that. Can we say mod theft? Modders on there stealing mods from authors here, porting it over, posting it on another website. Without permission. Refusing to support those mods (often times because the thieves didn;t know how to), when they don't work right, and then sending them back here, to try to get support from the true author for something that was stolen from them? And butthesda did absolutely NOTHING about it. Not until Robin stepped in with them about it. So anyway, you got your chance to rant, I just took my turn at it. It's not aimed at you, it's one more checkmark on the laundry list of why I myself, will not deal with bethesda. If you want help, just ask for it. But leave the attitude at the door. Not very many people at all respond very well to it. It's not wise to put off the people that you want a favor from. Its like walking into a restaurant, and be all kinds of sh*tty with the server and royally piss them off. Then be surprised if they go back and ask the cooks to drop your food on the floor. Surprisingly enough, since I've come back to this site, most of the modders here in this section of the boards all get along well. We've got a pretty good set of regulars here. Just...don't piss us off. We Are cliquish enough to gang up. But yeah. If you have questions, that we can answer, most of us will. Just be civil and polite about how you ask. Also welcome back to the modding scene.
Guest deleted34304850
Amazing you claim to have been modding since the stone age, but seem to lack even the most basic amount of manners. I know that you don't need one to do the other, but when you're asking for help, a bit of contrition and open handedness goes a long way. Honestly, I think this is going to fall on stoney ground, and not simply because of technical reasons. Perhaps you should have spent your time away from modding by learning how to interact with people in a way that will get you the results you're after?
