crimsonsteel Posted December 3, 2008 Share Posted December 3, 2008 hi, i need some help with some of the mods i donwloaded, usually they arent a problem, but for some reason, when i tick some of them, when i press ok, or cancel, doesnt matter which, it doesnt actually keep ticked. i go back into the screen, and only 2 of them are ticked. and theyre the ones that are always ticked. oh and ive got the australian dvd of fallout 3... dont think it will make much difference, not much editing goes on in between releases. vista also, but 2 of the mods work so im kinda... in a fix. the ones that are permanantly on tick are unique uniques (havnt noticed anything on it yet tho :P, but thats not the problem)lerr as in the le red ryder bb gun mod. the ones that wont run are (and there are probly ones that ive yet to download that have the same problem):Essential caravans and companionsthe fallout 3 esm strangly... although the game worksmr slack pants decent pipboy light (barely use the light anyhow)power .32 pistol (cos its underpowered on its own)power armor improved i have no clue y these dont work, staying ticked, and although they dont really change the game, its still annoying how they dont work, and im sure many other ppl are having this problem.any help would be greatly appreciated, especially help that works :thanks: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You need to make sure that everything has been put into the correct folder. For esp files it will be the Data directory of your main Fallout 3 folder. My suggestion is to use FOMM http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640 to start Fallout 3. All your mods will stay ticked this way and it's easier to see what is loaded. Have you edited your Fallout ini so that bInvalidateOlderFiles=0 now reads bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
crimsonsteel Posted December 3, 2008 Author Share Posted December 3, 2008 yeah i did put 1 to the invalidate, but it didnt do anything, but ill put if bak, one of the mods did seem to work afterwards (like 30mins ago actually) the power armor improved, but the others didnt. i could still blow up charon. oooh wait, that mod allows u to kill npcs, just not npcs killing npc followers :/ ill give fomm, i was thinking of doing that, but didnt seem to do too well for oblivion, but i dont use many oblivion mods. the esps are in the right folder tho, thats y they show up.im just glad someone is replying, i saw the stats, 100topics, 300 replys. not too promising. but ty.still anymore help on this topic might solve this problem, and help others with the problem too. Are you editing the correct ini? you'll be surprised at how many people change the wrong one (of about 4).It will be MyDocuments/MyGames/Fallout3/FALLOUT.ini Are you using Vista as apparently people are having a number of issues with this game and that OS. crimsonsteel Posted December 8, 2008 Author Share Posted December 8, 2008 im pretty sure theres only one ini file with archiveinvalidation= in all of the fallout files. and the archiveinvalidation= line is near the bottom in the 3rd - 5th last paragraph. cant remember which, but still. anyhow, i got them working, the ony problem i had was that the esm files wouldnt stay ticked in data files on the launcher, but fomm keeps em on Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
