grimdawn Want to mod GD but don't know how!

Hello everyone,

 

The good news is: I managed to add Fire damage and Burn damage bonuses to the Occults skill Possession on par with the other bonuses....within an hour or two...and that was comparably easier...checked and works ingame...(was my first tiny mod in GD that I got working in day 1)

 

The bad news is that my next step in my plans is a LOT more complicated. I want to make a new Set of Legendary equipment that will suit nicely with a build that I have in mind.

But I'm just so confused as where to start... sure some things do make sense > like item ID's and when equipment forms a set there is a set ID that strings them all together... but I'm not sure about all the parameters.

 

I don't know how to indentify one thing from another... please don't come to me now with the modding guide Crate put out... I just don't have the patience to read everything. I'm more of the "learning on the job" you see.

I have done some modding before with Warhammer Total War 1 + 2 but these tools are really somewhat different.

 

If someone would be so nice as to point out to me a step by step guide that would be awesome. I looked myself on the net and youtube but I could not find anything.

 

What I DID try was the following:

 

looked up the following vanilla items and copied them for modification.

 

(Mythical Mask of Infernal Truth) > want to turn this into a set item with different effects (Chaos + Fire Damage bonuses %) that benefits a Pyromancer.

(Mythical Fiendgaze Tome) > I LOVE this item! <3 It gets close to what I am looking for.The ability Fiend's Gaze is great for my build.

(Mythical Exterminus) > very good too! Wanting something like this for my build since I plan to play ranged while a Hellhound or two maul enemies in melee while I stay ranged with BWC's and dual wielding pistols.

(Mythical Dracarris) > the buffs are PERFECT and the ability is awesome but it's a DAGGER not a PISTOL!

 

Ok three weapons, haven't quite made my decision there yet but as for now these are the items I want to start with, with modifying. Can someone help me with this please by perhaps a tutorial video or a step by step guide....
