Ornok Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) I've been having problems with the shadowing on NPCs in my Skyrim game being striped/rippled. It seems to only happen in very low or dim light. To be clear, I haven't noticed any shadowing problems on terrain, only on NPCs. SSs below; http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b267/vette_junkie/ScreenShot5_zps94e1e589.png http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b267/vette_junkie/ScreenShot10_zps56db3ff9.png I've looked around and tried a few fixes, including this mod and the "fix" in this topic but they didn't fix this particular issue. If anyone has a fix for this I would really appreciate the help, this shadow problem has really been bothering me lately. I'm not sure what information might help people diagnose this so I'll list what comes to mind as being relevant and if you need something else please post and I'll get it on here. Playing Skyrim on PC via Steam. The in-game graphics settings are all set at maximum.I use the High Res Texture Pack and the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (plus many other mods) but no special lighting mods.PC Specs;GPU: GTX-560 Ti (with the most recent Nvidia drivers)CPU: i2500-KRAM: 4g Edited December 17, 2012 by Ornok
Oubliette Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Common error. Search the Skyrim Nexus for "shadow striping fix." Use one of those and your problems should disappear
Ornok Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Common error. Search the Skyrim Nexus for "shadow striping fix." Use one of those and your problems should disappear  Used the top two rated mods found by searching for that, tried them both (not at once of course) and had the same problem. I went back into the room from my screenshot and Mjoll looked just as stripey as before =/ Edit: The SS of Mjoll was taken in the East Empire Company building on the docks of Windhelm (the back room). As I look at some of these shadow ripple fix mods it seems they mention fixes by location, maybe the mods didn't fix them in that specific area? Not sure. Edited December 17, 2012 by Ornok
MotoSxorpio Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Be sure that resolution for shadow is same in Skryim.ini and SkryimPrefs.ini, also try increasing fShadowBiasScale= , the further from 0.0000 you get might help (0.5000 or so). Also, do you have ENB installed?
