Cobotnik
There are a fair few overhaul mods floating around, and I get very confused as to which one is best for me- since they all seem pretty good, so I thought I'd ask here. I want a mod which is more realistic, tougher, but still fair i.e: Heavy armor slows you down a lot but makes you much harder to hurt.Light armor on player AND enemies makes them easy to kill in a few hits.Realistic weight- i.e you can't carry more than say, a sword, a dagger and a shield without being very weighed down.Coldness being a factor you have to take into account.Maybe even backpacks being nessecary to carry more than a few things? Are there any mods which would work for me? I'd love more challenge, and I don't mind dying a lot, but most of all I just want a more realistic world. If I hit a guy with a sword, I want him to crumple and die, not take a bunch of slashes. Fast, brutal but deadly combat so you have to block often. Beoroth
You may want to look at "Skyrim Re-Done" - it is a modular overhaul of all aspects of game play which (IMHO) greatly improves the game. If you're after a Mod which incorporates hypothermia etc then there are a number of good ones out there - although I can't recall any names just now!! There are a fair few overhaul mods floating around, and I get very confused as to which one is best for me- since they all seem pretty good, so I thought I'd ask here. luzburg
Theres a load of hypothermia mods. Sky-Realism carry weightsSkyrim Redone makes Heavy armour slow you down, and light offers less protectionBandoliers and pouches will give you a way to store more stuff without taking realism away. saintQWERTY
1. Although I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, the Requiem mod sounds right up your alley. The armor behaviors you described couldn't be a better fit.The rest of the mod, however, might be a bit extreme. Take a look and see what you think. You'll need Dawnguard in order to play with the most recent version, but there is a slightly older file which supports the game without any DLC. Here's a link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19281 2. I can't personally recommend any weight mods, but the simple solution to this that I've found is to just limit yourself to what you think would be reasonable to carry. For example, don't loot the armor from every enemy you kill, and only carry the weapons you're using. I think Requiem ^ changes some weights, and it might even give gold and lockpicks weight. 3. Frostfall is still one of my favorite mods out there. It makes all of those blizzards you run into an actual challenge, and in addition to being affected by cold weather, you're even able to do things such as build your own campfires and tents. All armor has cold weather resistance stats, which can be adjus ted at any time by the player (this means modded armor works as well.) http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11163 4. Here are some backpacks. Again, them may no be necessary if you decide against carrying a bunch of useless s*** around, but it helps with immersion. aciits
I too am looking for a realistic overhaul mod that would fit my needs and so far Requiem looks quite good though it may be too hardcore. What`s left is just testing it out.
