InfamousZombie
Ok, so I found that the game runs. However, the mods (texture ones pretty much) are messed the hell up.So I look around, and pretty much have figured out one thing: archive invalidation is crashing my game :wallbash: Does anybody know how to fix this? knovack1
CTD when entering a door can be caused be quite a few things. It would be best to start a new thread with your issue. Thanks for the reply, but this information does not help me. Do I make 10000 new threads of the same problem or keep it to 1 thread? The Search works, but the info in these searches, have no reply's in over a year. So posting on any of the old threads. Most likely I will not get a responce. But thanks anyways for the reply. knovack1
Ok, so I found that the game runs. However, the mods (texture ones pretty much) are messed the hell up.So I look around, and pretty much have figured out one thing: archive invalidation is crashing my game :wallbash: Does anybody know how to fix this?I know awhile ago, we are talking years. That modders had us go in our Fallout file to change Archiveinvalidation, and some other line changed/added manualy. So if we have Archiveinvaladation, and some other thing changed/added manualy in the original files, then we also have it switched on in the NMM, then it could be the cause of messed up meshes, etc. But it has been quit a long time for that info to be last posted in these forums. Now I am not saying this is what your problem is. This is just the process of elimination, which may or may not fix your mesh's. Uninstalling and reinstalling Fallout 3, may put the change back in the original version. I do not know for sure. Might have to bring Fallout 3 to its fresh out of the box version first, then patch the game with each patch, and hope this puts the game at a state where it does not crash often and no meshes, etc are messed up. But I am not sure this is possible with such a stubborn game. After you know for sure Fallout 3 is fixed then you can start adding in mods. If I do dig something up I will stick in here. My Fallout 3 is so far gone right now it is just ridiculous, so most likely i will never get it working, since I tried EVERYTHING and I still crash. You mention you use NMM. Heres the thing with NMM. It saves all your mods in a data bank. So if I uninstall my Fallout 3, and reinistall it. All I have to do is just recheck the boxes of my mods to run them mods again with a fresh install. Which could be bitter sweet. You might have to totally uninstall each mod before you reinstall Fallout 3. If you do this right and you have the DLC's. Upon opening NMM. You should only see the .exe files and the DLC's .exe files inside(DLC's are the expansions. IE. Brokensteel, Mothership Zeta, Point Lockout, and the Pitt) If you do not have the expansions then the only file you should see is the Fallout.exe file. So if what I tried with my game helps someone else with their game. Then that is fine by me. I ran out of ideas for my game. knovack1
Well I assume it is the game itself right now for crashing. I went through each of my 40 mods, and ran an Error Check through the Fo3edit tool. I even checked the Fallout.exe with the edit tool, and Errors where poping up like crazy. with no mods installed. So thank Berhesda for releasing a broken game, when Fallout 3 came out a long time ago.
