wfandrews
I just tried to download a file and got the error message in the title. I went to the SSE forum and there was a post from another person who had the same problem. I believe this is connected to NMM as that is the mod manager I use and also the mod manager the other OP uses. I could download the file manually. Would appreciate some help with this. Pickysaurus
Hi there, Nexus Mod Manager has been unsupported since December 2016. Sadly, this means a recent change to the site will make the version you have unable to download directly from the site. I suggest updating to the latest NMM version or switching to Vortex/MO2 as these mod managers are unaffected by this change. If the latest version of NMM also has this problem, you can raise a bug report with the community developers here: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/issues
wfandrews
Thank you for your reply. This only affected SSE as I downloaded a file from Legendary with no problem. I will check my version of NMM and if I am up to date will use your link. I appreciate your quick reply.
Gianfry77Foxclaw
Hi, I have the same problem, I wanted to update "Legacy Of The Dragonborn" to 5.1, having to start over again because of the damaged saves  and he didn't download me. It gave me the error "unrecognized game mode: skyrimspecialedition" and now I'm downloading manually. the version of the NMM is 0.71.2 and i think it is the latest (i think).... Pickysaurus
You need to ask the MO2 devs about it. I would suggest you update your application before reporting it as an issue though.
