HybridReaper
Hey guys I really need some help with this one. Skyrim ran great with the mods I had installed until today when I replaced my nvidia gtx 480 with a matrix platinum hd 7970. All the other games I play run great but for some reason when I try to load a save game or start a new game in skyrim it just crashes to windows without display any error message. I tried a lot of things I read on several forums such as changing the sound settings, revoming the skyrimprefs.ini and skyrim.ini, deactivating all the mods but nothing worked. I really love this game and it is by far one of my all time favorites so please I beg you guys help me figure it what's going on. Thank you guys in advance for all the help and for your time. Sucrilhus
Last time this happened to me was because I had mods conflicting with each other, but since you've already said that you removed all mods and the problem continued. , your case is definitely not like mine. Does this happen only when Loading an already saved game? Have you tried creating a new game? If it crashes even creating a new game, you should try to update your graphics card driver.... I would also run the "Verify integrity of game cache" through steam. Edited December 20, 2012 by Sucrilhus

I would also run the "Verify integrity of game cache" through steam. I've already got the latest video driver. As I said everything works fine except for Skyrim which crashes when loading a save game or when I try to start a new game I get an error inside the game with some numbers then the screen gets stuck at the silver dragon, the smoke moves around so the game doesn't freeze but nothing happens. korun
did the game recognized your new GC? in the launcher?
ginnyfizz
Yes it should do that detect settings thing if you deleted your ini. You may need to do a total uninstall and reinstall to get Skyrim to pick up your card.

Only once I click ok I get 2 new errors exactly like that one , only the numbers change and then nothing.
