1mjolnir1
The years are passing for morrowind vets, and as gaming history continues to unfold, we start to notice a trend. I am extremely excited that the prospect for TES V has atleast been confirmed on the basis that bethesda has the money and motivation from their epic heraldry in making rpg's to move on with the series, but. SOOOOO many titles, and alot that weren't even previous video games are moving on to the repetitive tedium of mmo development. And while many game producers can make very fullfilling mmo's that I myself have loved to play over the years, there's only so much fun you can have with hitting a certain sequence of numbers. I think elder scrolls is elder scrolls for a reason, and a very good reason at that. Because YOU go on an adventure not you and the hundred or so ppl on the server at that time, and bethesda has mastered this. This is why elder scrolls rules, because you can make your own adventures through CS and not has to worry about the complications of online play. Because with that aspect added, all the atmosphere is shattered, SHATTERED I SAY! And that's why it's the best... Well what do you think? I think that aside from that, they could make a very entertaining multiplayer mini game concept. But NOT an mmo, I pray every night that tes does not become an mmo. I will never be converted. Tried them out and found it pretty damn boring. If the Elder Scrolls had to go that route, that would be it for me. I enjoy a lan between friends though, actually I love it. That's about as far as I would be willing to go so far as ES multiplayers go.
XanAlderon
I've never played a MMO but I hope Elder scrolls stays the same, its good how it is!
Stampede
Despite some cosmetic and gameplay changes, the ES series has a couple of constants: Open ended gameplayLiving your own life/ignoring MQSolo adventuring I doubt it will ever go multiplayer. (Don't quote me though!) Maiq still makes fun of the notion in ES IV.
XanAlderon
As well as being absolutely full of lore!
Deleted269910User
I've played tons of MMO's, some of them good and some not so good, I honestly saying would prefer for TES to stay out of the business, it's far easier to ruin a game when hitting the MMO market, instead of making a good one.(Age of Conan showed how much of a fail a hurried release[Which seems to be Beth's trademark, hurried release that is.] can be and set the new standard for it.) The ES series deserves to stay as a single player game, or limited to LAN, but even adding that option could very well destroy the feeling in the game. This may all be barking at a stonewall since ES V hasn't even been announced yet, but should the time come for it's release, it better not be a damn MMO. ~Elraine, retired MMO vet. XanAlderon
Whats the fun of raiding a ruin when someone nicks the loot at the last second!
Deleted269910User
I could start an argument over that, since there are more than a million different ways to prevent that and are being used. :P But the main point sticks, Beth should NOT under any circumstances head for the MMO market with the ES series, if they want to try creating MMO's, better make a whole new title for it. ~Elraine
XanAlderon
If they make it a MMO the whole storyline thing is gone.If Oblivion was a MMO Mehrunes Dagon would be being killed everyday!
Aoikani
I don't really think it will be a MMOrpg with what Pseron has posted here. TES VThe main quest of TESV will take place in each of the troubled provinces mentioned in TESIV. The player will travel, KOTOR-style, to each of these provinces. Once order in the Empire's troubled provinces has been restored a new Emperor will assume power. I have this information on good authority (myself). You heard it here first.
