Uninstall key for Vortex is missing or corrupted.

Hi there,

I am super noob to modding and have been trying to mod Mount and Blade: Bannerlord. I came across issues with the mods, got pretty overwhelmed and decided to start from scratch. So I deleted all my mods. I did this by following this guide: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Removing_Vortex. Then I thought maybe uninstall then re-install Vortex just to have a "fresh start". But i cant uninstall this app. I think it's my fault because I changed the file destinations manually (dragging Vortex files from C: drive to D: drive), I realised this was so stupid but i guess it was too late.

I tried to uninstall through Programs and Features but the Vortex app doesn't show.

I also went to uninstall it through file manager - Data (D:)>Black Tree Gaming Ltd>Vortex>Uninstall Vortex - but nothing happens. I press ok on uninstall but files are still there and nothing happens.

Then a notification popped up (through the vortex app) stating "Check Failed: The uninstall key for Vortex is missing or corrupted. This may lead to problems the next time Vortex gets updated. Please reinstall Vortex. No Vortex uninstall key.". So now... i'm kinda freaking out.

I am using the most recent version of Vortex, downloaded it today. I'm trying to mod Bannerlord and only downloaded 7-8 Mods. I'm using Windows 10, x64 and I have 16gb of RAM.

Please help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

HI

Open vortex --> go to setting --> vortex --> turn off auto update!

forget about the problem and then worry about it when the time comes!

P.S it does say and i quote "VERY old versions of vortex will be locked out of network features eventually so please keep your vortex up to date"

IE you really dont have to worry unless....this dosent work in which case we are both beat because i have same problem lmao XD
