If this forum is the wrong place for help on this issue please direct me! Been trying to get back into Oblivion and wound up doing a full rebuild based on a pure vanilla game that I'd saved in MOM, as I saw lots of my mods were outdated and I was having FPS issues I couldn't resolve. New install is running great and features some new/updated mods. However when I try to load an old savegame that I dragged from the old install to the new, the game CTDs. Here's what happens:- I click on the save to load- answer Yes to "Are you sure you want to load this game?"- click OK in response to "This save relies on content that may no longer be present..."- I see the loading screen for just a moment before CTD. I've tried Repair Factions, Remove Bloat, and Update NPC Levels. I haven't tried Load Masters because I'm not clear on what that does....if it's going to make the new install to revert to the old mods, I don't want that. Here're my Diff Masters compared to a fresh game started in the new install that seems to be working fine. (I switched to the full Better Cities - Imperial City and a newer version of BC, rather than the individual districts. Despite them showing up as missing I am actually running BC Full - B&M Edition and BC - Cobl, but they are merged. In my old install for some reason they were not merged.) So the problem must be with something I did between those two saves...right? Here's the Diff Masters for the two old games....the list that begins with CM partners Marker NPCs belongs to the older save that works, and the one that begins with Minionz to the newer save that doesn't. Hickory Posted December 22, 2012 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Your old save game info is too vastly different to your current setup. My best guess at the most likely culprit is the variation in data that the game is trying to construct from the differing versions of Better Cities. I really don't see any way you are going to load that old save into the new setup. The game can be forgiving... to a point, with missing content, but conflicting cross-content is an entirely different matter. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've done some experimenting and found that the new build will load a save from that character with 35 hours of play. I'm flummoxed as the differences between the old build at that point and 10 gameplay hours later are quite minor (no differences in BC, fo example) yet the later save still will not load. I'm out of ideas....if there's no better solution losing 10 hours isn't the end of the world. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Good luck.It would only cost me a level (I'm a roleplayer and things happen slowly); more missed would be a few souvenirs of adventures w/ this character - Chillrend, for example. On the plus side, I can replay the Hackdirt quest with the new creepy makeover, which I wasn't aware of when I delved there.Either way the new build is running so much better....FWIW I think my FPS problems with the last build were due to installing full QTP3 improperly so I couldn't back it out again. I had FPS below 15 in some locations and had to skip some ULs and portions of BC just to get a playable game. That's why I had individual districts in the old build.Thanks and happy holidays!
