ForrestB
The People's Republic of America radio doesn't do anything - it's just leftover chinese propaganda from the war. Mama Dolce's was a front for a chinese propaganda distributing station, as can be discovered if you break into the VH terminal in the Food Distribution section, using an encryption key found on the body of a dead remnant officer. And the radio signal near the dead chinese commando is just a random encounter. It doesn't do anything either.
crimsonsteel
random encounters in this game are nothing like the random encounters in fallout 2... i miss my expoded whale and monty python holy grail references. bridge keeper:"if ur lvl 15 with 7 strength and the strong back perk, how many pounds can u carry?" char :"how many lvls of strong back?" *bridge keeper explodes*honestly that brifgekeeper is overpowered, the 1st time i found him, i got it right and walked by, he didnt die, for laughs, i shot him, he exploded me. i had to start again. got it wrong, he exploded me. i found a forum, explained how to get past, exploded him. Circuitous
yea those remnant guy suprised mekind of sucks there isnt more of them but how good was fallout 2 random encounters Fallout 2 had three kinds of random encounters. 1. Combat ("Do you want to encounter a pack of Deathclaws?" "NO.")2. Plot exposition. (Frank Horrigan commanding the slaughter of a farming family.)3. Jokes/Self-Reference/Parody. (Unwashed Villagers, Cafe of Broken Dreams, UFO, Nuka-Cola Truck, Anything vaguely Monty Python related.) 1 was to be expected, 2 helped ground you to the plot at hand, and 3 were good for a laugh and the occasional ridiculously powerful item but otherwise spit in the face of canon and made the game more confusing than necessary.
