makarov
somebody should add extra weather effects like thunderstorms(with tornados) ,sandstorms since most the wasteland is desert like , and also snow for the winter months in the game
Bean0
Sounds like some stuff that would be fun to survive, kind of like the blowouts/emission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.Only problem is that we don't want NPCs to get killed by these things, it could break the storyline, or wipe out everything in the wasteland. Bean0
Is it possible to make all NPCs run for cover when a duststorm hits?Or failing that we can make them just "disappear" until the dust clears, but then they'll suddenly pop into existence. Also making them all clusterfrak for cover will cause massive firefights to ensue if you follow them in. This is not stuff that can't be worked out however. We could have the dust start to cover the screen with dust, as visibility gets really low NPCs, friendly and otherwise have their AIs start scurrying for cover (but they'll be programmed not to attack anything during this time). As the dust reduces visibility to less than 50% all NPCs stop running, they ragdollize on the ground similar to what happens to NPCs who get hit by a burst of fire but don't die. As visibility drops so does your perception, VATS quickly becomes useless. Then visibility grows less and less until it's about 10%. At this point you start taking damage from the abrasive winds whipping against you.You get knocked down unless you're in cover, you can still crouch walk, but you're still taking damage.Eventually the wind speeds begin licking you far too quickly for you to crouch, you ragdollize while still taking damage, but now that you're lying down you don't take as much damage. You stay pinned to the ground for a few seconds before regaining the ability to crouch walk. Then visibility fades back to 50%, you can now walk and ragdollized NPCs begin getting up.The dust eventually clears and you start seeing what damage this has done. No NPCs get hurt at all, because they all fell to the ground before the wind picked up (luckily no friendly NPCs got buried alive in sand, though some enemies have). When an enemy NPC is buried alive in sand it's simply deleted from the game until a new one respawns to take it's place. All equipped items (weapons and armors) have degraded by about 10%. Firing a gun during the sandstorm would wear it out 10 times faster than it normally does.If you hadn't healed yourself up during the sandstorm you would have lost about 200 HP, this could be fatal early on in the game. Just because you're blinded doesn't mean you can't use stimpaks. This is how I imagine this mechanic could work. I remember something along the lines of this working in morrowind, but no guarantees that it can be done with the gamebryo engine or at least not without the SDK. WickedTrain
somebody should add extra weather effects like thunderstorms(with tornados) ,sandstorms since most the wasteland is desert like , and also snow for the winter months in the game ======This sounds great. It should snow with some snow drifts, etc. Rain could cause some flooding, etc. The problem is it could cause PC slowdowns and crashes. The grass seems to cause some of these problems now. But it still is possible.Let me know if you find this mod..
Tekmon
That would be cool. For a tornado, it would have to start raining first, over time, the clouds would get darker and darker, it would start to rain hard, lightning would strike the tallest objects (Possibly you, follower(s), npcs, objects, buildings) and sparks would fly every where, animals / bugs would hide (temporarily disipaer) and if robots where to be stuck by lightning. they'd frenzy, or explode. Winds would make objects out in the world fly at high speeds, and damage you with the havoc physics (Watch out for guns and whiskey bottles). Then it all suddenly calms down, but the danger isn't over, the clouds turn a greenish tent, and there's a really small chance that a tornado would form, I'm not sure if we could make it stronger or weaker (Enhanced Vagetia Scale). Once it touches the ground, any objects/ things that are dead (Dead things won't disappear) will fly around the tornado like rag dolls, and if you're too close, you'll turn into a rag doll, and fly around, if you hit anything, you die, and if you don't, you'll take a lot of damage on impact, crippled limbs, and stuff like that. You'll be safe in side towns, and one of the towns residents will come up to you and alert you of a storm (this will only happen once during the whole event) Once its save, they'll let you know. This would be made up of phases. 1 - Clouds will darken, thunder, rain starts.2 - Heavy rain, Thunder and Lightning, High winds3 - Calm, Clouds tint green (Animals Disapear, NPCs will take cover if possible)4 - Small Chance that tornado will touch down , If so, objects will spin around it5 - Tornado loses power, disappears6 - Calm again (Animals Reappear, NPCs come out of hiding, back to normal) This is my view on it.
