tyrannynexus
Downloading files from the workshop is quite easy. Once you have found the mod you want go to its page and hit "subscribe" and steam will automatically add it to your game. Once you launch the skyrim launcher from your games library (not through nexus mod manager) it will start downloading the mods you have selected. I also recommend selecting the mods you want as favorites so if you want to delete them you can find them easily.

TheGreenLion
Well, I don't know about a pirate, they didn't come outright and say they don't have the Steam version. Suspicious yes, but not enough evidence I think. :P
MrMikeOnPC
You can buy retail of Skyrim, I have a friend of mine who did from Wal-Mart.
TheGreenLion
Well sure you can buy it at any store, but it gets registered through Steam when you install it as a requirement, otherwise you can't play it. Legitimately that is.
ripple
You can buy retail of Skyrim, I have a friend of mine who did from Wal-Mart. All PC retail versions require Steam activation, which is why there is no such thing as a legitimate 'non-steam' version (there is a Steam direct 'download' version and retail DVD versions). And once you active the retail version through Steam, you can 'subscribe' and install mods from the Workshop (although personally, I avoid the Workshop like the plague). If you bought a copy that does not install Steam then you were cheated. As to the OP's request, if you have a legal copy and a Steam account and if you have a working Internet connection you can download any mods from Steam Workshop. And on that note, I am closing this thread.
