Outfit Studio Weight Painting - saving outfit

Quick question for the experts!

 

I'm happily adding some weight painting to a skirt in a project, I save the project, go and Bodyslide the result. Check in game - need more adjustment...

 

But next time I open the project, the weights are totally different, and my work is lost :ermm:

 

I've tried "Copy bone weights" and saved, but I am clearly missing a step. I had assumed I just painted my weights and saved the project.

 

Please can someone put me right? A quick Google seems to concentrate on everything except the save part!

It's not about the saving, it's about the weighting.

 

 

 

When editing the bone weight, pay attention that the area is affected by minimum 1 bone (red; 1) and maximum 4 bones (light blue; 0.25). Total bone strength is normalised to 1 after you save a project.
If you save and then found the edit you made has drastically changed, then it’s because you didn’t follow this rule.

 

Tick the checkbox for Normalize weights so you can see what your changes are doing as you do it.
