FCOM - Invisible jaguars

Okay, so here's the problem...

I installed FCOM 1.0 a lil' while ago following a thread on the Bethesda forums (I think). I was used to install the UFCOM package.

 

I've been playing without any problems and very few crashes. However, I just encountered the enemy I fear the most... INVISIBLE ENNEMIES ! DUN DUN DUN. In all seriousness, it pisses me off and I'd like to know why it's happening. All mods are to their latest version, have been installed through BAIN and sorted with BOSS... Yet, I still got that invisible jaguar. I made sure all bsa loaded in a variety of different ways. (Adddind them to the Oblivion.ini file or renaming them...) Nothing will do. That dead jaguar live invisible, died invisible and remains invisible.

Also I'd like to know... Let's pretend I save right beside said invisible jaguar... If I fix the problem and load the save, he should magically become visible right in front of my eyes, right ? Or should I make a clean save and hope it's alright until I come across another jaguar ?

EDIT : I just looked through both the 1.33 files and the 1.35 BSA of OOO and couldn't find anything resembling a jaguar. I also browsed through MMM's BSA and got no result either. =[

Unfortunately not... I was between Bravil and Leyawiin.

 

I also got another problem, the Flayer Knife, dropped by BoneFlayers looks fine on them, however, as soon as I take it I get a glorious missing mesh of doom if I drop it or equip it.

 

While I'm at it... Sometimes, ennemies just stop moving or attacking me for a while... Everytime I installed the game it did that to me... Could it be a simple FCOM side-effect, or am I just really bad at this ?

I was thinking you may have run into Ancotar's pets from the vanilla quest Zero Visibilty.

 

I don't use it myself, but I understand that FCOM can be a bear to install. I know the game uses different methods to indicate missing resources (such as the famous 'WTF I'm a missing mesh' exclamation point). One of the effects is invisibility, but I'm not sure if that is indicating just a missing texture or a combination of missing resources (e.g a missing texture and a missing normal map).

 

Your enemy problem sounds like the game limitation on how many enemies it can support at once. Not sure if there is a tweak for that one.

Well, thanks for the answer. ;]

 

I've adjusted the max enemy AI at once in Wrye Bash, but I'll try to tweak it further and see if it helps. (Tends to happen in crowded places, indeed.)

 

As for the invisibility, I don't get it. It's the ONLY enemy I've ever seen that was invisible, and the Flayer Knife, the only ever missing mesh. I crash once in a while, but it's far from unbearable. I start wondering if the new versions of most mods included aren't maybe a bit... Hmm... Broken ? Or if there's a hotfix I haven't seen.

 

Should try looking into that.
