Naminea
I play both real and hero, and as for comparisian you can even call them the same. Dont get me wrong real guitar is fun, but if i want to play "Through fir and flames" Im pretty sure i cant do that on a real guitar so i have to go play it on guitar hero. You might think its easy but i want to see you beat Jorden by Buckethead on Guitar Hero 2, not only do u have to beat it, i want you to 5 start gold it (For the guitar hero nubs that would be 100%) Im pretty sure you couldnt comprehend the wall of Skittles that fly at you in that song. I suppose th biggest thing that irks me about GH is not necessarily with the game itself, but usually people who brag about playing it.

I'll say, "Hey, let's play Call of Duty or any other FPS." And he'll say, "No, I've almost got 100% on Visions!" It's consumed him to the point that all his time not spent playing Guitar Hero is spent on Score Hero or Youtube watching Guitar Hero videos. And he calls me weird for hunting and teabagging animals in Far Cry 2. For shame.
cnc
I often found Guitar Hero to be a gimic game(pretty much like the WII) I know many people who bought it then wish they dident because of it being a huge waste of money jsut button mashing thats all it is and waste 40-80 pounds for peice of plastic and a very reptive game is pretty stupid(also the DLC for it is sjut more songs it would cheaper) well thats my short oppinion on it gimic and a waste of money
GenDonuts
IT IS A GAME! I mean telling people not to play guitar hero because it irritates you when people bragging about it. I mean thats like telling me not to play Ghost Recon because I'm not a real soldier. Gosh thats down right mean! People make games for entertainment not so poeple can grow up to do what they do in the game! :wallbash:    :verymad:  :whistling:

Perhaps I should completely rephrase myself. People who walk about boast ing about playing certain songs on it, people who point out that they can play a song on it when it comes on the radio annoy me. You can play it, just shut up about it sometimes. B) "People make games for entertainment not so poeple can grow up to do what they do in the game!" You've never played Manhunt, have you? Palpenious
I agree with you in regards to the annoyance of gloating over a game, but to me it's really the same for any game. If someone was telling how great they are because they hunted down and closed every oblivion gate, or was the head of each guild, I would similarly say, "So?". It's different than saying you finished something like Ninja Gaiden on the hardest difficulty, or ascended with every character in Nethack. But still gloating in general is pretty annoying, I can see getting just as upset to someone bragging about how they can play everything on the radio on a real guitar, but at least that takes a lot more time and skill. Either way, just let people talk, they'll tire themselves out eventually.
Burr
Glad to see I'm not the only one who is provoked into a nausea that borders on violence with these "guitar" and "rock band" games. If you enjoy rhythm games like this, fine... but the people who think they are cool when they play them are an embarrassment and a disgrace to both gamers and musicians alike. Halororor
As with anything, it's just a bit of fun in the end. Do you reckon real soldiers get pissed off at people talking about their achievements in games like Call of Duty or Medal of Honour?
