People who have played both male and female characters, which is the better voice actor?

I want to play as a Male since I'm a male but the large majority of people say that the female voice actor is MUCH better than the male one. Is this true?

<goes on and rambles some hours about voice patterns, personal taste, familiarity, like and dislike for a former colleague....>

 

To me, both sound about the same, both come with the same irrational mood swings in certain dialogues that naturally come with voiced protagonists, both have the same lines...

 

TL;DR: Opinions. Almost everybody has them. Try to have your own once in a while. It's liberating.
