Skyrim 2K TEXTURES LITE VERSION

hi, probably just gonna ask for SKYRIM HD 2K TEXTURES - users out there, on how much RAM does it need to run with the LITE version? i've got it installed and FPS was not an issue, but the many CTDs happening now and then on my skyrim. hence i am only using the LANDSCAPE, TOWNS, and DUNGEON textures packs, and not including the MISC texture pack to avoid further more ram requirements.

hopefully i'll be upgrading for more RAM, will 4GB RAM is enough for the lite versions?

@ ashigi - hi there, thanks for the answer. yes, i have enough VRAM to run the mods, no fps drop. 2GB VRAM actually.

in my case actually, i'm running lite versions of towns, dungeons, and landcape only those are the only texture mods i have. the rest are a surprising number of armor and weapon mods. and i am actually running 192 of them. then the CTD hits after i installed 2k textures lite.

..so you think that upgrading my RAM will help solve my CTDs? i do only have 2GB RAM. haha. :)

@ bben46 - hi, thanks for posting an answer. yes, i've did some research of adding ram, and dfference of 32bit OS and 64bit, so its true then.

..correct me if i'm wrong, is the cause of my CTD case could probably mean because the lack RAM? i do only have 2GB RAM, i've also heard that lack of RAM to run high res texture mods would sometimes render them black in game, and would cause a crash.

if upgraded more my RAM to 4GB (i'm only 32bit) will it be resolved? what do you think. hope for your reply. :)

Skyrim HD 2k are one of the best on Nexus, the diff between the lite and the full HD is really nothing on your screen but for you're memory, the lite are a big improvement.

i have no problem with 6 gb, 2 is really not enough, 4 gb with XP must be good.

as BB46 says if you're on W. 32 bit you can't have more than 4GB, go for 64, add 4gb more and get 6, especially if you have a 2 gb vram GC Oo

you must have add more ram before such a big GC :P

for the ctd's, check your load order 1st, then which mods you can leave without and un-install them

you're rig can probably handle 192 armor/weapon mods, but say stop with a texture overhaul :)

@ korun - hi, thanks for posting. yeah, mistakes of purchasing a fancy graphics card without realizing my RAM is low. sorry 'bout that. :))

but i did a little experiment, running all the mods i have with the 2k hd lite version.

in game, when my character goes to a 2k HD rendered area my memory usage is up to approximately 85% to 90% and thats with all the 2k lite version, weapons and armor mods running with re-corrected order.

but without the texture packs and just armor and weapon mods, my memory usage is only 60% to 70% of available memory. and i only have 2gb ram.

so.. my assumption is if i can 90% with all mods with texture packs with only 2gb ram, then if upgraded to 4gb that would stabilize my game. what do you think? :)

yes it will, but you've also found the problem :) :

weapons and armor are not that big, only texture overhaul and Enb's, obviously, push your system to it's limit.

any amount of ram you will add, will stabilize your system

in the future, upgrade for a 64 bit vs of Windows too, keep in mind that W7 need 2 gb +/- for himself on 64 bit full enabled (Aero etc..), a 6gb kit for gaming is a good start, 8 is better.

oh! and don't be sorry for your GC it's your rig and your money ;) i'm just a geek :D
