Does vortex work for the Non-steam version of a game?

I don't know what those sites are, I suppose they are key resellers? As long as you activate them on Steam/Bethesda.net/Gog/whatever it should work fine I think. Worst case scenario you can select your installation folder manually if it doesn't get detected automatically by Vortex, as you can see here.

Vortex doesn't depend on Steam, it just makes use of the steam game database to find them.

We also supports a bunch of other game stores like gog, origin, uplay, the windows store and the epic games launcher. But if Vortex fails to find the game you can still manually set its location.

As long as you have legally purchased the game you should be good.
