Tithian
I'm doing the horn quest for the jarl of Solitude and needs to go to the shrine of Talos east of Whiterun but whenever I get to the area around graywatch cave and white river the game just exits to desktop without any error message or anything. I've tried going there from different directions, fast travel, older savegames, windowed mode but always with the same result. This is really annoying because I've been to the area before in my current playthrough without any problems. I tried disabling the texture packs in case the game had trouble loading some textures but it didn't help...

I'm having an issue VERY similar to this, but with areas around Whiterun such as Silent Moons Camp and The Western Watch tower. I found that running (as in sprinting) into those places crashed my game. However if I walked I could get in just fine. The western watch tower had not graphic glitches and this fixed the CTDSilent Moons Camp wasn't even rendered and walking in VERY slowly I was able to not only clear it out but watch as it slowly rendered piece by piece. Not a very technical and perhaps not permanent (I've yet to find out) fix, but it worked for me.
stars2heaven
I'd wager that you have more problems than you know about. For one, your load order is very out of shape. You should use BOSS to help you out with that. Using BOSS would also give us a better list of your mods to look at so we can see all of them. (unless your load order really does stop at randomthunder.esp) Further more, you have mods that are completely incompatible with one another without a bashed patch. You should get wryebash to help you out with those. Im also betting you haven't cleaned your masters. The UDRs in Dawnguard and Update.esm can cause crashes in some circumstances. Have you cleaned them? If not, look for the esm cleaning tutorial by gopher on youtube. He is very easy to follow and understand and explains everything thoroughly. My suggestion is to get BOSS and fix your load order. Then clean your masters exactly the way Gopher tells you in the video. Then get Wryebash and use it to make a bashed patch to get (most of) your major conflicts out of the way. Then see if your game still crashes. If it does, then we can do some more troubleshooting. This is much more technical than my fix xDI use boss myself, but I haven't cleaned my masters as I find it very difficult. I will look up this video you mention, though, perhaps that will help me. EDIT: For the convenience of others here's the updated video (the description says he made a mistake in the old one): Edited December 28, 2012 by Dmz96
