Blankolf
http://i50.tinypic.com/34si0zn.png[image by GalooGameLady] Family Enhancement Mod Well it's one of my first post as a long Nexus Modder that I am (at least on using and endorsing heh) and I've decided to break this silence since I haven't seen anything on this matter. Without any further ado, let us get to it, the mod request i have been seeking would be a Family enhancement, i know we do not want and neither Bethesda wants to follow the path of Fable, but the family system is quite poor, rough and the complete opposite of immersion, the mod would consist of the following features: - Pregnancy and the ability to have a child! why the h*ll did Hearthfire, bring us the adoption system and not a pregnancy mod, I see the difficulty of rendering and making a belly that would be the nightmare of a texture mapper, but well, we want immersion, if it goes against Fable 3, why the hell not? I hated Fable 3, was a unfinished game, but it had the fundemental of bringing thus immersion, the impact on the world thing, and who doesn't want to see what a dragonborn baby would be like. - Child Growth & Profession - Its quite self explanatory, why not a child growth system that after some time it grows into adulthood, selecting one of various pressets characters, turning to an alchemist, or a hunter, depending on how you approached and teached them, it isn't all that hard to grab a generic profession's dialogue and place it, and he could have minor gifts to his father, father and son quality troll hunting time, what this goes from here it's to the mods creator imaginations. I believe that the mods would be something that even the Creation Kit won't be able to support or perhaps it isn't all that hard depending on how you approach it, but I believe it would bring immersion to the game, again, I am not seeking a Sims Skyrim Stories or something, but I've grown attached to my Dovahkin and I think he deserves a fitting ending, and his sons and daughters don't have to be permenant lil bastards heh. CowPrint
I'm assuming Bethesda didn't want to put the idea of sex into Skyrim. Of course that's the modders jobs. :3 It also solves the problem of same sex marriage with adoption, so yeah. On a serious side, I'd actually really love to see a mod like this. In fact, the other day I thought to myself, "why can't you have a biological child in Skyrim?"
Blankolf
Why is sex such a taboo theme I wonder, it's a biological thing, I am yet to see the fuss about such matter.. But it doesn't have to include sex, I would suffice with a blacked out screen and wood screeching or somehing, and same sex pregnancy could be blocked or even available via a special spell fallorigenatalia, the limits of imagination are the limits of this mod, in other words, none. CowPrint
Yeaaah, but Bethesda was probably like, "eh, whatever, mods will probably come out with a crap ton of sex in it." And then they got lazy. Lol. That's probably pretty accurate too.
IsharaMeradin
Solving the pregnant belly issue: Have the female NPC lock herself in a room for the last 6 months of the 9 month gestation period. At the end of the 9 month period, a mid-wife or priest gets allowed in and then the male player can go see their female NPC wife & child. Of course an infant "item" that she is scripted to carry around for a few years would need be made. One major issue tho is that of the female player character. With a female character, the player should be given the option to adventure for the first 3 months and possibly lose the child by being severly injured or simply "fast travel" thru the 9 months and wake up with the infant "item" in their arms. The player could then choose to hire a nanny to raise the infant or refrain from adventuring to raise the child themselves. It's probably not without possibility but would require someone talented and dedicated to create the necessary meshes cause no child goes from infant to 10-12 to 18-20. I could see the latter as a possible phasing after having spent some time away from the kid, but there really should be a 4-6 age range to make it all believable. I myself simply prefer to think that my female character realizes that more is at stake than a sexual or reproductory satisfaction and chooses to keep her legs closed. :P
BossMan1998
It would also be cool to get children of all races, but then if you could get a gal pregnant, what if you were a, lets say a nord, and she was a, lets say a khajiit, youd have to add in a lot of races, crossbreed races, Khaord? ( Khajiit Nord ) Argoniorc? ( Argonian Orc) Argoniit? (Argonian Khajiit ) High Imperial, Dark Imperial, Wood Imperial...
Phuri726
I strongly agree with the OP here; at the very least you should be able to fast forward nine months and tada! there's a baby. Eventually it would become a child. Why is this so difficult to do? If a mod was created for something like this I don't think it needs to be as in-depth as some of the above posts propose (although it would be awesome, of course). It simply needs to happen. It does break immersion quite a bit
KaAsZinau
Maybe in skyrim babies need only 4-5 months, maybe argonians lay eggs. Possibilities with this mod is huge. I would really enjoy teaching my son hunting, fighting, speech or even language of the dragons.
