I can't be the first amateur to bungle his way around adding his own custom texture to a suit of armor, however I've been unable to google a solution to my problem. Hopefully some of the more experienced modders here can help me out, as I'm at my wit's end. Basically my retexture added a red strip to a vanilla texture. I started with something simple expecting it to be easy. For the armor that covers the body from the neck down, my retexture worked fine. The helmet however is plagued with this shiny white glow thing.

Any suggestions, tips, or explanations would be extremely welcome. Thank you for your time.

it the alpha map in your normal texture file thatneeds to be corrected, the lighter it is, the more shine there is on the object in question.

so open the texture in photoshop or the like, and go to the alpha annel and correct it there, where black being no shine at all and white being the chrome like shine.
