bben46
Go to the MS help site for info on ctfmon.exehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/282599 Note that it is used with MS Office for alternative text input and the 'Language Bar' If you use only the standard keyboard for text input, AND no other languages that need non standard text input, particularly Asian languages. It should be OK to remove it. However, just taking it out using the task manager might not remove it, It may keep coming back. See this to completely remove it.http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...-is-it-running/ The warning message is the same thing you will get when you try to remove any MS stuff in your task manager. I don't know why it gets installed on systems that don't even use MS Office as it supposedly isn't used. There is also a virus that uses the same name. The legitimate ctfmon.exe is located in C:\Windows\System32. If you find one somewhere else it is probably bogus.

It would be better if you started your own topic as then all of the answers would be specific to yours and not the original posters. Who's problem may be totally different from yours. Vista has special problems, but not with OBMM. Bben46, Moderator
