SeriousStu
Hi everyone, I hope you can help me with an irritating problem I'm having! I'm experiencing a crash to desktop problem. It happens every time I'm sent back to The Throat of the World by Tsun right after defeating Alduin. I've tried disabling all my mods but I still get the crash. I figure it's some sort of scripting error and I suspect it might be happening as a result of the mod The Paarthanux Fix, but this is only speculation. I've tried fast travelling as soon as I reappear at The Throat of the World, but to no avail... the game still crashes shortly after arriving at my chosen destination. While it sucks I won't see the ending sequence, I've already seen it so I'm not bothered with seeing it again on this playthrough. I'm wondering if any clever folks know the correct console commands to force-complete the quest and return to Skyrim (again, via a console command?). I'm not even bothered if this means skipping receiving the Shout that Tsun gives you. Any help would be much appreciated! I don't have an earlier save before going through the portal to Sovngarde, so I'm kinda stuck there as it is...
Jackdd
You could probably just use a command like "coc Whiterun" to get out.The ending was pretty terrible though, so not seeing it is no big deal anyway.
SeriousStu
Hi again folks. I've managed to fix this problem (I hope!) Firstly, apologies for bumping up this week old thread. However, I thought others might benefit from what I found out, and what solution I used. Firstly, the research I did...I found I could use 'coc Whiterun' to leave Sovngarde quite safely. However, the game would crash when I fast travelled to The Throat of the World. It seemed an invisible (bugged?) follower, who happened to be my spouse, was stuck there and causing my game to crash when I came near her (Jordis the Sword-Maiden). I found this out when I first used 'coc' to leave Sovngarde and realised I couldn't find my spouse. I used the Tweak Commands Power that comes with the Amazing Follower Tweaks mod to summon all followers I had previously used. Every single one of them appeared, except for my spouse. I used to 'moveto' command to go to where the NPC was, and it took me directly to The Throat of the World. A couple seconds later, the game crashed. This lead me to think that this specific NPC had bugged out and was causing my game to crash whenever it's AI kicked in (ie, when you approach close enough). I tried a number of things to rectify the problem, bu none of them worked disabling the AI of the NPC with 'tdetect'reseting the NPC with 'recycleactor'using the 'kill' command to kill the NPC as soon as I appeared at The Throat of the Worldmaking the NPC not-essential, THEN using the kill command. Now here's how I was able to fix things.I found I was able to use the 'moveto' command to summon the NPC to my location (Sovngarde), but she would still be invisible and there was seemingly no way to interact with her in-game. However, the game wouldn't crash when I did this. After letting Tsun send me back to Skyrim, the game stopped crashing and the main quest ending sequence would be playing as per normal. Cool! However, the 'bugged' follower/spouse was still no where to be seen. I decided to fast travel to Whiterun...As far as I could remember, the 'bugged' follower/spouse should still set to follow me. I went to Breezehome to sleep to see if I got Lover's Comfort. Didn't work...I used the 'moveto' command again to 'summon' the follower to my location. I test for Lover's Comfort again and it DID work.So she's in the location, but I can't see her.Turns out, all I had to do was use the command 'enable' on her. So, in the end I was able to legitimately complete the quest, get that useless shout from Tsun, see the ending sequence and I still have my follower. Great success! Jackdd - even though your help seemed small, it snowballed into a huge amount of help which lead to me fixing the problem in the best possible way. Thanks! Hope others find this post useful :)
