Daddy2Daddy2
Hello. I have been trying to export a mesh from blender to .nif so i can use it in skyrim. This has proven quite the challenge. I did find a lot of information, but all of it is very old, and seemed very "hacky". I want to ask if someone can point me to a modern resource, or explain the workflow to me. Thanks. M48A5
There is no stable version of nifscripts available to work with the newest versions of Blender. The last stable version was for Blender 2.49. You will need to download and install Blender 2.49, PyFF, Nifskope, NifScripts and Python. You will also need to download and install the latest Blender. Workflow would be to import the .nif file into Blender and export it as an .obj file. Import the .obj file into Blender 2.79 and do your work, exporting the finished product as an .obj file. Import the .obj file into Blender 2.49 and export it as a .nif file. That is the latest information that I have. If it is not correct you can be certain someone will be here to make any corrections. Hanaisse
You could try the latest version of Blender 2.8.x with this version of the plugin. But keep in mind the plugin is constantly being updated to fix issues, refactor code and retain functionality, so there may be issues. Check the link often for updates. Dragoon23
I prefer to export the OBJ from Blender 2.8+, import that into outfit studio, export as a nif, import the nif back to outfit studio to rig it properly and set up the textures, and finally: fix up shader/alpha properties in nifskope 1.1.3.
