Wait, so Atvir Dres, Interesting NPC, Cerwiden, VILJA?. None of those are good enough for you? What the f***ing hell man? People like you piss me off because no matter how good something is, no matter how free it is, no matter how hard somebody worked on it, you're still not "satisfied"? These mods are STILL being worked on and yet you have the audacity to come on the forums and complain that "all the follower mods are shallow except Hoth! He a cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything". Sir I may be ranting here, I may be getting myself worked up and angry, but saying that you tried these mods and you still aren't satisfied makes me wanna bash my head into a wall about how people like you seem to never appreciate how freaking hard modders work to make these amazing followers.

You can certainly make such a follower yourself, but as calfurius says, it takes time--history suggests it usually takes at least 2-3 years to make a follower mod that's truly responsive to the game world and its events. So what you're seeing now is only the beginning.

I like most BioWare games myself, and that's the direction I'm trying to go with my Aela follower expansion mod--not just one-line comments, but more involved conversations that can result in disposition changes. But doing that in an open world Bethesda game is quite different than in the recent BioWare games like DA:O. The challenge of implementing interesting, relevant conversations in a Bethesda game is that there are many more independent variables--any given event can be happening independently of many other quests and events, as well as your relationship with the follower. It requires planning and writing in four dimensions, basically.

But if that's of interest, then by all means make your own, or contribute writing and/or voice acting to a mod like Interesting NPCs that allows submissions.

There is a difference between being unsatisfied with a mod, and smearing a turd all over it and saying it is bad. I am the former, not the latter. I am looking for a particular style of follower. What I'm not looking for is for people to dictate to me what my preference or opinion should be. I do not think poorly or look down on any of the aforementioned followers. I wonder how much of my original post was read or even understood.

An awful microphone is an awful microphone. Suggesting that the hardware someone used to record with produced poor quality is an observation, not an insult. Why do I need to mention specifics for this? Find a follower mod with a custom voice, install it, and discover if it has poor sound quality for yourself.

Interesting NPCs is actually the only suggested mod that I haven't tried. Which is rather funny, as I've been in contact with Kristakahashi for two weeks-ish and have been determing where my voice would fit best in his list of voiceless characters.

I'm presently using Cicero, along with Serana, Valfar and Hoth.

I appreciate the responses from those who didn't feel the need to piss their wisdom on me.

That mod looks great, but my current Aela doesn't meet your installation requirements. :<

No one's pissing wisdom on you, your original purpose just sounded like some spoiled kid overreacting as you only mentioned one mod, Hoth, and your expectations seemed to be partly fulfilled by mods like Interesting NPCs, Atvir and Vilja, you just sounded like a common ass unable to use the search bar, in the end you shall just admit your introduction was grotesque and along with complains it only did expose nonsense about your testicles (a funny one right there). No one is forbidding you having your high audio quality preferences, on the other hand I did agree with one part of your purpose which is the "conjure boners" part, things are getting worse when the "non-adult" tag in the search bar becomes necessary to avoid the Porno Manga part of the Nexus and especially when it comes to Followers but generalizing this case to all the followers mod is just being an ass. The Aela Mod by Dreamkingmods. Also try Aurlyn.

The thing with Aela is that the Author took the follower beyond what Skyrim's audio assets allow for, given what was voiced specifically for Skyrim by Claudia Christian. So where her voice files leave off, it's a Text only interaction. It's still pretty good, You will have conversations about being the Dragonborn, you will have interactions about being Werewolves...even if you aren't one. She has a lot to say while on the Hircine Hunt quest. Again, not voiced, but IMO takes her well beyond what Bethesda envisioned for her.

As for Aurlyn. 100% vanilla faced Aldmer elf follower. Very well voice acted and she has much to say. Which I love. She is in no way, "eye-candy"................but she has a nice personality. Her main downside is that she's just too freaking powerful. I feel like I'm her follower / side-kick when we are out and about.
