Hi,

I'm having issues with some textures I developed for a weapon they've been completed and are at the stage of a dds conversion with the Nvidia plugin with CS6 Photoshop I'm getting mixed results with both my normal and diffuse maps. My normal maps borderline just don't work if I use DXT5 - interllophated Alpha they just black out the weapon the same with the diffuse map. So I naturally tried DXT5 - NM the diffuse map works but loses a great deal of detail and the normal map causes black splotches to appear all over the weapon.

 

I have gone over and over on what I'm doing wrong and still can't find any issues, with Nifskope in particular I installed 1.1.0 rcr 4 and have set normals to yes , updated uv number sets to 4097 and have updated all tangent spaces and still no solution. If you can help it would be appreciated thanks.

I think it would be easier for someone to help you if you just put up a link to your custom mesh and texture files, rather than play a guessing game of what's wrong.
