Having an issue trying to change the model of my custom weapon

I don't know how I haven't figured this out yet, but I could've made this a lot easier for me if I had just used the mod's gun and then integrated it into the leveled lists myself, instead of trying to create a gun completely from scratch. So I guess I'm going to work on that now lol, would you recommend that over what I was doing at first?

I'm not going to do this right away, but would it be possible to download a weapon mod for New Vegas, and then use the mesh and texture for that mod in one of my weapons for Fallout 3?

I don't know about using weapons, since I have never done it. I have used hundreds of clothing items from FNV successfully in FO3, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.
