ValorLikesMangoes
Alright, I looked around for anything on the forum that matched the issue I'm having, but didn't see anything similar.I played F4 less than a week ago, and it worked just fine (mods and all).I went to start a new character yesterday, but I couldn't. I'm using vortex and my mod plugins weren't deploying. After I got that fixed I ran F4 like I always do (clicked my F4SE shortcut)No dice. Screen goes black like it always does, then cuts back to my homescreen. I tried it a few more times, but same result. Updated my windows version, my drivers, reinstalled a clean version of F4SE after deleting all the old .dll files. Nothing. So I tried without any mods. Not a single one. Even disabled my ENB. I still can't get it to work, no matter what I do.Is this something anyone has heard of before, or is It something I'm doing wrong?I appreciate any help. metaphorset
Windows 10, I suppose? Do other games still run fine? Did you get the 1909 "Cretins Update" last week? Yep, this is still a thing. MS fricking up Computers since the Age of Aquarius. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-10-1909-crashes/6a626d9a-2ed9-4be2-a893-59eb97c80325 Download the newest drivers for your GPU. Try if that changes something. Also, make sure to disable the stupid Windows Search for your Steam Folder. While you're at it, also check if you still have full permission to access it. Thisisnotmyday
Hate to say it but MS does screw us over, run Loot and see if there are any errors in the mods as well, then runs FO4Edit if any need cleaning, me I tend to leave the DLC's alone as don't clean them the game seems to run fine with them dirty so to speak. ValorLikesMangoes
I just finished doing a clean reinstall of F4, no mods, completely vanilla. Same issue as before. So I thought maybe it's just a fallout issue. tried skyrim, mods and vanilla. Same exact issue. I really have no idea wheat to do next

metaphorset
What about the last sentence in my post above? Did you check the GPU drivers?
Purr4me
What about the last sentence in my post above? Did you check the GPU drivers? The thing here is, the statement "all games not responding" or about that. That indicates a big problem system wide, not just a single game.It indicates an Antivirus program has inadvertently installed it's self Like McAffee or some other malware. 1 game, ok I can attune to that, but not the same across the board.Task bar / task manager / Processes and the startup tab. If that program has installed it's self, it requires that products MTR.exe to remove it from the PC completely. To me, In my own experiences and My own Opinion, McAffee Antivirus is malware and it's self an infection. The only other thing that can take place is a serious permission issue on the users system.
metaphorset
Missing or outdated GPU drivers ARE a system-wide problem. GPU is the abbreviation for Graphics Processing Unit - otherwise known as Graphics Card. On top of that it's a common problem with some systems and 1909 that it either messes up the GPU drivers or replaces them with outdated ones from Microsoft's own library. There were quite a few questions about that over at Blender StackExchange and missing/broken drivers always were the problem. In any case, we don't know, since OP doesn't deliver any sort of valuable information about their Computer whatsoever. Windows will not overwrite GPU drivers if they are newer. So I don't know where you are getting that info from.Steam offers Booster 7, there is a free app available to update all drivers on the systemI use the paid versions so I don't have issues setting up other peoples systems. But of course, the issues won't be known if the OP does not respond. So we agree on that point. Windows update is safe.
metaphorset
So you know... Oh well.... I'm getting that info from being an IT hard- and software engineer since 25 years and having created automated setups for Windows 10 for about a 1000 PCs since 2015 now... but yeah, what do I know. More important - why do I even care. Case closed - bye.
