CrimsonOrigin
I am relatively new to the mod community, but I have already ran into a problem. Before, I was using the Steam Workshop until someone suggested using Nexus. I hopped over, downloaded, and such. Now, the NMM did have problems finding the Skyrim folder as I moved it out of the SteamApps folder. I have returned it there but I mention this just as more information and possibly a cause to my current issue. Anyways, I started downloading and installing mods. Most are perfectly fine but there are a few that just won't run properly. It is these mods specifically:- Deadly Dragons- Glowing Ore Veins 300- Lush Tress- Skyrim HD - 2K Textures- Serious HD Retexture Skyrim- XCE - Xenius Character Enhancement- XCE - Dawnguard As you can see, they are installed and checked off (None of them gave me an installation menu, however, which I know I few do [Deadly Dragons]) :http://i.imgur.com/0Z1Qm.png But, not a single one is showing up in the plugins and thus, not showing up in the game:http://i.imgur.com/nMZkK.png They do not seem to appear in the data files as well. Something is not working or the mods may be directed to a wrong folder? I call out to you guys because I have yet to read a solution to what I would believe be a problem dealt with before. I am running on Windows 8, but I am pretty sure that would't be affecting the mods.
Jeir
Those mods are just texture/mesh replacers. They don't require .esps.With Skyrim (and previous games), the game is set up so that it automatically looks for 'loose files' (files in folders, rather than in .BSAs), and uses them instead of the files packed in the .BSAs if they're present. CrimsonOrigin
If thats the case, I wonder why I don't see the difference in HD textures as the mods promised. In any case, shouldn't Deadly Dragons and Glowing Ore still fall under the .esp category?
Jeir
I can't really vouch for those ones, as I've never used them. It might be the archive isn't 'standard', and instead of having the meshes/textures/etc. files in, it has a Data folder, or something, then the meshes/textures/etc. structure. Only way to be sure would be to open the archives and have a look. Okay, just downloaded Deadly Dragons and had a look. The error is, possibly*, as I said. The first folder in the archive is 'Deadly_Dragons', and inside is the fomod folder and the DD .bsa and .esp. From what little I understand of NMM*, the .esp and .bsa should be the first things you find in the archive, no fomod necessary. You can install it manually easily enough. Just open the archive with 7zip, go into the Deadly_Dragons folder, CTRL+Click the .esp and .bsa, then click 'Extract' and extract it to your Skyrim/Data folder. Also had a look at glowing ore veins, and it doesn't have an .esp. It's just meshes/textures. Skyrim 2k/Serious HD Retexture - some of the retextures are a little more subtle? *I don't use NMM, so...yeah. =D
