Mookeylama
i was at like 5000kb and after a short time it's at 20000 kb. but i recently added a few huge mods. Interesting NPCs, some hd textures, Automatic Variants, Immersive Armors. but i've done very little. not explored much and only at whiterun after riverwood. this a normal increase in size? thanks
Deleted1308005User
Sounds like bloated to me, but I am not sure.I haven't tried AV or IA for long time, and I don't know if those affect save size that much.

ripple
I just did started a new game, did some quests around Riverwood, made my way to Whiterun, savegames are around 6 mb. So yeah, your savegames look bloated. However, I am using AV as well, and I've not known AV to cause bloating. Maybe another mod?
Bjornheim
LOL 20mb is nothing, just keep on typeing PCB everytime you exit something, that will clear up unnececary saved things, it will make the saves smaller, thus smaller chance of CTD's in the long run. And disable all auto saves, seriously, auto-saves edit soooo much mb, I had 84 mb before, even when I pcb all the time, and when I went into my save folder to remove them, I had removed 40mb, so I only have my normal saves. Always use 3 normal saves, always save when it's the best time (after a hard pack of mobs killed in a dungeon, or after a loading screen door inside a bigger dungeon) , but disable auto-save because it eats up your space. In order to pcb, go to console and write pcb (or PCB , does not matter) and press enter, done! Now, when you get to about 100+ normal saves, it's time to go to the folder again and move out about all normal saves from 01 to 60, that will take away about 20mb, but please, dont delete them, because your future saves may corrupt everything, and when that happens you are gona want to have a backup so you want to have to start over all over again. Just put the 60 something old saves outside the saves folder and keep about 60 saves in the saves folder. Your saves folder should be at max only about 40-50mb , but at above 50mb, CTds or corrupt saves may happen, if you don't pcb regulary. It's nothing if you are 20 days into the game. If you are fresh out of Riverwood and on your way to Whiterun, then it's suspect. If you are going to type 'PCB' every time you transition cells (and you really shouldn't have to), you might as well just edit your skyrim.ini and change bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=0 to 1 Incidentally, how come no one has uploaded a PCB hotkey mod yet? I've been thinking about something like this since Fallout 3. Those 'auto PCB' mods are never ideal, but a 'one press' PCB hotkey to abbreviate the console typing would be nice. Otherwise I'd have to figure out how to do it with AutoHotkey.... Edited January 3, 2013 by ripple
FiftyTifty
You guys. It says 20mb. Not 20MB. 20mb is fine. Rather small, actually. That is 2.5MB. My saves are 4MB straight at the character creation screen.
