ENB/Mod Problems Please Help

Okay so I installed the Superb ENB and extracted the respective files to the skyrim folder and the data folder. I then enabled my mods and started up the game and I see a grazed, flickering, splotchy mess.

How do I reset the skyrim files back to default? When I reinstall the game the old ENB files and the missing default files are unchanged.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not too familiar with grazed, flickering, splotchy mess problems, but is it possible to post a picture of this problem?

Rule no.1 - always backup files that you are going to overwrite just in case something goes wrong and you need to restore them, Also, ENB is not, and will never be a part of Skyrim or probably NMM compatible, so if you don't want ENB present then you have to delete all the files that you added into Skyrim.

I realize that now, so I will do that in the future, but how do I fix the problem now? I how do I restore skyrim default files? If I delete the ENB files then the default files still arent there. How do I do a fresh install and get a completely clean skyrim?

I have pictures, the files are too big though I'll work on resizing them.

EDIT:

how do I restore skyrim default files?

I'm unaware of a means of restoring Skyrim game files that have been deleted, with the exception to Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini which are made upon launching game if they aren't present. If you want any other files "restoring" I see no other option of deleting the entire game and reinstalling it. If you do this then BACKUP ANY MOD FILES! Depending on the modding you've done then if you're not careful you could lose more files.

I've had a look at your picture. It's hard to diagnose the problem as your picture is quite small, and when blown up to full screen I can see what I'd describe as compression artifacts, I don't know if this is the "problem" you're referring to (?) For ENB, the only time I've seen significant graphical errors is recently when the enbseries.ini files [sKYLIGHTING] section, specifically AmbientMinLevel= is set lower than 1.0. If your enbseries.ini setting is below 1.0 perhaps then raise it to 1.0 and see what happens.

Other than recommending doing a new and clean uninstall and reinstall of Skyrim and mod files, I don't know what else to say.

Go to your steam games library, right click Skyrim and select "Delete Local Content". Once deleted manually navigate to Skyrims folder within Steam (mine is D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim) and just check that the game has fully been deleted and no other files / mods remain. Delete anything that is present, then reinstall the game via steam (it'll need to be downloaded again). Once it is has been redownloaded then I highly recommend backing up Skyrim before you start modding it which can be done through Steam by right clicking the game in the games list and select "Backup Games Files". That way you'll have the original game available for backup recovery should things go wrong. Edited by LargeStyle
