Building a new machine.

Recommended Posts

My old computer finally gave up the ghost awhile back (Acer x3200). I decided to build a new machine. I used to hang around here a lot when I played New Vegas, but I'm more insterested in Skyrim now so I want to build something that can handle the game reasonably well.

My brother kindly said he would by me a new machine. Only for me to receive a empty case instead.. (how kind).

Now it's been a long time since I've built a machine so I'll list what I plan to buy aswell as the case I got. My all importand question is will all these parts play nice with each other...?

Case - NXZT Phantom 410

Parts...

Intel Core i5 3570k

Asus P8Z77-V LX

Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)

CoolerMaster 120mm Sickleflow Fan <-- The case already has 3 fans.. 1x140mm and 2x120mm.. would a 4th be overkill or a good idea?

Sapphire HD 7850 OC Edition 2GB Dual DVI

Be Quiet 530w PSU

TP-Link Wireless N150 PCIe

I allready have the HDD and DVD-RW drives. And if I've calculated it correct the power usage should be between 470w and 490w.

So my question is.. will all these parts work with each other or have I been a total prat and either A. missed something important or B. just completly buggered it up.

Any feedback would be welcome. Thanks and sorry in advance if I've buggered it up

the only thing i could say is 16gb RAM is not necessary. 8gb is still overkill for everything, unless you plan on running lots of VMs.

other then that everything looks fine. the extra fan is not needed, but its not overkill either. however if you want extra fans, i recommend Corsair Air Series fans, specifically the Quiet Versions. i eventually intend on replacing my fans in my rig with those...eventually lol.

also, depending on how much of a hurry you are, Intel will be coming out with new CPUs here in a few months which will be even better then Ivy Bridge chips.

I have the original NZXT Phantom full tower and I'm using 6 out of 7 fans. Your case is a bit more compact than mine so I would fill every fan slot your capable of using so you increase the air flow. I don't see how it would possibly hurt unless you have your intake and exhaust mixed up
