glossedsfm
Hi, I have Blender, GIMP, Marvelous Designer 9 and Substance Painter 2019 and i've been practicing making simple clothing items for a few weeks. I found a YT tutorial by Elianora which is in the link below. But my question is when i have finished the clothing mesh in Blender/MD and i've made its textures is there anything else i need to do to the mesh to prep it for the first steps in Eli's video? like how do i do the rigging/weight painting/skinning and/or converting to the right format? i think when she starts out with the mesh it's already in .nif format. So if i'm using Blender how do i go from a .blend .obj or .fbx file to what is needed in Eli's video? I've found a few other videos but they are how to get weapons from blender to fo4. Anyone know of any tutorials that are specific to clothes? thanks Edited May 30, 2020 by glossedsfm

glossedsfm
Thanks i'll give it a try. It looks like it was made for porting mods from Oblivion or Skyrim or something else? but it seems like i can just substitute some steps or words and it would work for a model and textures made completely from scratch. So if i'm making the model it seems like it would be a good idea to use the default FO4 male or female body shape as a template for the clothes i'm making? then i can just use Bodyslide and Outfit Studio to get the clothes to fit a custom CBBE body shape. BUT if there is too much warping/skewing of the clothes then i'll just be ready to use my CBBE custom body shape instead as a template for when i make the clothes in Blender.
