Haplo_64
I'm just asking for a mod that handles enchantments the same way in which Morrowind did, instead of like Skyrim does. That is, that they slowly recharge over time, instead of needing to be recharged with a soul gem.You can still use a soul gem or so to instantly recharge it of course, but having the recharge increase with your enchanting skill was bliss. Doomhunk
Im all for this, infact i would go one further and have this mod have a NO SOULGEM RECHARGE option which meant soulgems are needed to enchant the item but no longer afterwards. I hate the way magic weapons are reduced to having ammo like a FPS which isnt surprising when designers ideas of RPGs date from D&D. It would be better to totally review the way enchanted weapons worked such they had a percentage chance to inflict their enchantment be it improved damage or other effects. The more powerful would have higher chance with higher effects once triggered.
Xmayne
I completely agree. I was never fond of the recharge system. It's just cumbersome and makes me think of getting ammo for a gun, like Doomhunk said above. I was also thinking about a recharge system for enchanted weapons the other day. It would just make sense if over a period of time your weapon would eventually fully recharge, you know? You already use soul gems to enchant the weapons, so I really think they shouldn't HAVE to be used to recharge weapons too. Of course, like the OP said, you could use them for an instant recharge if you wanted to. I even like the idea that Doomhunk had where your weapon has a percent chance of inflicting the enchantment. So for example, if you had a frost enchanted sword, maybe 1 in 5 hits would do 10 frost damage. Yeah, it's just one of those things about Oblivion and Skyrim I never liked at all. It's a lazy system and it just takes me out of the game.
