Why do I still have to install my own Mods?

Do you have HARDLINK Deployment activated (Like in the screenshot I posted), and are you DEPLOYING the Mods after you install them?

Go into SETTINGS----------->INTERFACE and turn the following switches ON

Deploy Mods When Enabled - turn this ON

Enable Mods When Deployed - turn this ON.

As far as asking probing questions, it's kind of hard to do that when you didn't give much detail to your problem, which forced me to GUESS what your problem is.

You need to describe the problem in detail.

Yes and yes. I'm thinking perhaps a clean install of Vortex might be in order.

FTR, killerkitten, although I missed what, based on the other reactions, was presumably a targeted slam to me and other respondents, I would like you to know that of the over a thousand posts I've made during the past 17 months, as a player just like any other, only a small handful have been made for my personal benefit (and of those, few have actually been answered or even acknowledged), and that with the exception of humorous quips, etc, all my other post were to help others like you, when in fact, I am under no onus to attempt to help you or anyone.

I expected a sensible reply. like "hmm... ok, so what did I do wrong installing vortex then?", in which case we could have pursued it farther.

I did nothing special when I installed Skyrim, nor for vortex, not the vast majority of mods I've successfully installed. This was the first game I' d installed since FFXI for PC way back in 2006 or 7. Sorry. you're mistaken.

Had I chosen MO2 or some other mod manger, I'd probably be saying the same thing I am right now. I followed the directions for installation and it just worked. This isn't rocket science, something ironically enough of which I *do have some familiarity.

Well, I have autism, so everything is rocket science to me.

The thing is, I did follow the instructions. It's just not working. Thinking about doing a clean install.

Okay here are solutions. After spending three hours figuring this out.

1. Do not do the custom install download. It's probably fine if you're already familiar with Vortex and it's components. But if you're like me and just assumed it was like Mod Manager (it isn't) then don't do a custom install.

2. Be Nice. And say sorry when you're a jack ass (sorry).

3. Don't use Vortex. I still don't like it because I think it's bloated with a lot of features, but hey, who am I to judge.
