kromey
I'm trying to create a new, unique potion (that bit's easy) and make it craftable at an Alchemy table. However, I can't seem to find a way to add recipes there. Am I missing something obvious, or does Alchemy base its results solely on ingredient effects and not on recipes like the other crafting stations use? kromey
Bump -- anyone? I've looked at a few other mods that add craftable potions, and they seem to mostly use the cooking spit -- is it just not possible to create new recipes for the Alchemy table? jack013
have you seen this mod? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16665it seems to do it.
kromey
I had not seen that mod, thanks. Unfortunately it appears that he created entirely different crafting stations, rather than using the standard Alchemy table; at the very least completely replaced how alchemy works in vanilla Skyrim -- which is way beyond what I want to accomplish. IsharaMeradin
Alchemy is about combining ingredients that have up to 4 different effects. There aren't any "constructible object" (recipes) for potions created at the alchemy lab. Therefore to create a new potion you need to have at least 2 ingredients with one of their 4 effects being identical. After that, I'm not too sure. I don't know if the potion item is automatic based on the effects or if there is anything else that needs be done. Most people will opt for using the cooking pot or a modified alchemy lab and create new potions much like you'd create armor or food as that is much easier to put together. Good luck on breaking new ground
kromey
Thanks for the confirmation, Ishara -- not the answer I was hoping for, unfortunately, but I can work with it. Maybe change the fluff a bit so it's not a potion per se, but a, I dunno... something that would make sense to be cooked rather than mixed. IsharaMeradin
well if you want something that is mixed (i.e. alchemy lab animation) then use a custom alchemy lab but change it to create an object and you can use normal recipes on it.
