Hi everyone! good day! I want to ask here why is SkyUI is one of the base requirements of Combat Gameplay Overhaul SE by DServant?

Is SkyUI is just a UI "improvement" I want to install the CGO mod but I dont want SkyUI, i dont know if im the only one here but I never really tried SkyUI because really don't like what it did to the user interface itself. .. and lastly CGO is still ongoing right? like there will be updates soon?

simple, because the author of "Combat Gameplay Overhaul" chose to use SkyUI as a "tool" for their mod.

You don't have to like it. If you want to use it, install the dependencies it requires. We all have to install things we don't "want" but are required for this or that mod.

And fwiw, the Sky UI interface is... well it's what it is, as dumb/cliche as that *might sound. There are some addons that change its look, maybe one that you'll like.

CyranGE I know exactly what you mean. You're in luck! You can install SkyUI without the SkyUI Interface. After installing Skyui install Hide Skyui (backup your save, just in case you don't like it you can't uninstall SkyUI once it is on the save file)

SkyUI is actually great a lot of mods use its mod configuration menu (AKA MCM). You will notice error messages when opening up the UI in the game. That's not a problem go to "mod configuration" in the game options select skyui Advance Settings and disable the SFW version checking options. You get the benefits of SkyUI without the ugly UI.

Thank you, I agree that we don't have control over it since it is not personally mine, I will try to take a look of some addons that might change my mind. . anyways thank you very much :)

Yeah they say SKYUI is great but not for me, I tried using them years ago when Im just playing with the mods and other functionalities and it was really fun, but now i restarted the game and want to play clean with minimal mods added (some personal weapons, armor replacers, followers, fixes and graphical improvements) I want to feel the base game without straying too far.. and now that I found out that you cant uninstall it once installed is a big meh. . . I don't mean to be rude or something but for some reason I dont like MCM and SKSE too, I want to play the game as vanilla as possible no additional settings no configuring something. ..

but still thank you very much for this, really appreciate it :) last one question, what will happen if I dont install SKYUI but install CGO? will it work?

Most mods that only use mcm will "work" in a limited capacity. There are often a variety of settings that need to be configured in MCM to function. That said many mods work with MCM, but also have a book, spell, or an object you can interact with in the game you can use to configure the settings.
