Skyrim script extender for mac

I play skyrim on my mac. Because i don't have the money to buy a gaming pc right now and i had to prioritize school work and therefore buy a mac. Playing and modding works pretty fine as i just add the mods to the package contents and add the mods and expansions to the list. Except installing Skyrim Script Extender. Does anyone know a solution to get this installed and running on a mac. The problem is that it uses an exe file.

You won't get any help here. Skyrim isn't officially released on mac, and since you stated that you don't have a PC, that means you pirated the game.

The Mac port of Skyrim requires a copy of Skyrim, but it doesn't necessary mean that copy has to be pirated or cracked.

But Skyrim runs better in native Windows environment anyway, so I would think it makes more sense for Mac users to Install a Bootcamp partition so they can run Windows on their Macbooks.

If you use Bootcamp and legal copies of Windows & Skyrim. Then Steam and SKSE work fine. As do nearly any Windows based program. Instead of trying to fool programs into thinking yiou have Windows. Bootcamp creates a real working version of Windows on your MAC.

If you are using a windows emulator, such as one of the assorted variations of cider available, (as not being able to run an exe seems to suggest) you are pretty much on your own as far as support is concerned.

You are trading the cost of Bootcamp & Windows for a lot of time trying to force something that wasn't designed to work on you operating system to work on it.

As Skyrim is a Windows game intended to play on a PC with Windows at The Nexus we do not support anything except on Windows and in the case of Skyrim, only through steam.

All support for SKSE is through the SKSE team and any inquiry about it should be addressed to them.

Wine could run Windows Skyrim

That's what I meant by a 'Mac port' (ok, technically speaking, it's not a 'port'). But as all three of us have noted, it's really much easier to run Skyrim under Windows via a Bootcamp partition.

Is it me or is there a recent influx of Mac users here asking for support? gimanji just started three threads asking basically one identical question....

Dear sir,

To put some perspective on what you said...

KarlMarx2: I own a boat, but I can't use it on puddles, since they're too shallow...

stars2heaven: If you're trying to use a boat on a puddle, then it's because you stole the boat!

derp...

What's with the Internet, that makes everyone give opinions about something they don't know about?

anyway...

Karl (great name btw...), you can only load SKSE from a Wineskin wrapper, the Cider one doesn't work. Although I prefer to use Boot Camp, I just tested it with the Wineskin wrapper and it loaded fine.

I do get why a mac user wouldnt want to bootcamp though... personally I haven't used windows in 10 years, and its all pretty alien to me now (oh XP... where art though)... besides, having a partition just for playing some games its not pratical... all my settings are on my mac... (e-mails, address book, bookmarks, work programs, etc etc etc... and not to mention the keyboard, I'm always pressing the start key instead of ctrl while in windows -_-). Everytime I go to windows, I can't access those, meaning if I need, I have to reboot. Do remember though, that running anything in wineskin, probably eats up about 500mb ram from your system. If you have plenty, then its no biggy.

Cheers!

PS-Wine isn't really an emulator... it's a TRANSLATOR! an Emulator would parse CPU instructions between different architectures, and since mac went Intel ages ago, thats why its so easy, because it isn't parsing hardware instructions, just the software layer, without any major CPU/RAM effort. Most Mac games nowadays use indeed Cider or Wine wrappers. EA games for mac, are all but cider wrappers nowadays.

Love it when there is another intelligent guy on the internet who care enough to give intelligent comment and actually trying to help.
