Adonsa
Hi,I'm a novice SKSE user and mostly inexperienced Vortex user. Loot version 0.15.1, build 82c756e1Vortex 1.2.11SKSE64_1_5_97.dll (unknown to me if this is the version number)skse64_2_00_17 (maybe this is it)Skyrim-SE version 1.5.97.0.8Steam package version 1591251555Upon running LOOT, it reads,"Your Skyrim SE is up-to-date.""Your Script Extender (SKSE 64) is up-to-date" As far as I can tell, mods requiring SKSE are "happy." Maybe I'm wrong. While looking over the mod list within VORTEX, I noticedskse64_2_00_17 is gray and disabled. Obviously it becomes a disparity between that LOOT shows it's "up to date"and VORTEX showing that it's disabled. Should I enable it within VORTEX or leave it alone? Many thanks, for all your hard work and for a fantastic website. Jack
rmm200
Start by telling us how you installed SKSE64. Be specific.A good test for SKSE working is SkyUI. It is pretty picky.Note: the process will change a bit in Vortex 1.2.12, when it is released.

I'm trying SkyUI right now and it appears to be working ok without returning any errorsor misbehaving. And so, should I just ignore that, SKSE indicates "disabled" within Vortex? Many thanks,Jack
Solution rmm200 Posted June 6, 2020 Solution Share Posted June 6, 2020 You did good, installing SKSE using it's own installer. That is guaranteed to do it correctly.I am surprised Vortex lists it as a mod at all, if Vortex did not install it.If you did happen to drop the SKSE zip file on Vortex, it would show up as a not enabled mod.At that point, it does not matter what you do in Vortex - enable it, disable it, or remove it in Vortex. It will still be installed and work correctly, since you installed it "manually". BeowulfSchmidt
Gopher has also done a very good set of Vortex tutorials, including one covering how to install SKSE using Vortex if one chooses to do so. Highly recommend. Search youtube for "Gopher vortex".
rmm200
Keep in mind Picky says the next release of Vortex (1.2.12) will make it easier. No repackaging needed.
BeowulfSchmidt
Keep in mind Picky says the next release of Vortex (1.2.12) will make it easier. No repackaging needed. That'll be cool. When I was noob at modding, "manually" installing SKSE made me a little nervous. :)
