DarkKnightGamer0912 - BANNED

Recommended Posts

DarkKnightGamer0912 banned.

Reason:
a) posting an image that used a Skyrim character and a real-life image of a person to directly attack said person. Regardless of whether or not said person deserved the attack, the Skyrim image share is not the place to share such content so the image was removed. Relevant rule:

"We tolerate content related to real world issues and events as long as the appropriate tag ("Real World Issues") is used and the content is handled in a tasteful, respectful, and non-inflammatory manner."

From this rule it is obvious that real-life related content should not be uploaded to parts of the site where the "real world issues" tag is not available (e.g. Image share). It should also be noted that the uploader's comments mostly focused on games other than Skyrim so the Skyrim image share was absolutely the worst place to post their protest image.

b) in response, user uploaded an image depicting the same Skyrim character with a "Censored" patch and an screenshot showing the names of the moderators who removed their previous image. Some of their comments:

"If there's one thing I hate, it is when people false flag free speech. ... but my post by unnecessary force got taken down. I'm not okay with this! I don't believe in censorship and false flagging. I made a complaint to Nexus Mods support, but honestly I already know nothing is going to be done about it. I refuse to comply with being silenced and censored. I never liked the concept of it. But Nexus Mods is doing this now? Why?? It's bad enough that platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are even following such immoral practices, but now Nexus Mods too?
...
....Meh. F**k all that s**t. I don't behave towards communists. I fight back!"

Before you protest something, you should at least do your own research on the issue:

  • Nexus is a private website where membership is a privilege and not a right. As a private site, Nexus has full editorial rights in regard to what kind of content the site is willing to host. Your First Amendment rights protect you against government censorship. They do not take away the right of a private site's owner to regulate content posted on his or her property. Last but not least, Nexus operates in the United Kingdom where the First Amendment of the US Constitution is not enforceable.
  • there is a rule in our Terms of Service that prohibits public discussion of moderator action: https://help.nexusmods.com/article/27-moderation-policy#Complaints_Regarding_Moderation

"Complaints against staff action should not be voiced publicly and doing so may result in a formal warning or account suspension.
In the event that you feel staff have misjudged a situation and/or unjustly removed a file, or otherwise acted outside of what would be permissible for staff based on our policies and guidelines, you are free to submit a report to the Nexus Mods Community Management Team by contacting [email protected].
"

c) The user continued to protest the removal of their images in an open topic posted in the Lounge (Off-topic) section, completely disregarding and disrespecting the site owner's rights to regulate his own site however he pleases (within the constraints of the laws of the United Kingdom).

Unfortunately, as the user's behavior and comments (e.g. "Unfortunately I'm going to have to watch what I post from now on. Meh. F**k all that s**t. I don't behave towards communists. I fight back!") indicate that they are unwilling to comply with our Terms of Service, their account is now banned. Appeal may be filed using the Support -> Unban requests link on nexusmods.com at the bottom of the page.
