Laggy Skyrim After Messing with Configurator

Hey guys,

I recently started playing Skyrim on PC and I'm a complete noob to modding, just a bit of forewarning. I wanted an immersive experience right off the bat, so I went a bit nuts and downloaded a s***-ton of mods. Everything was running great and there was't a bit of lag on Ultra-High settings with quite a few mods:

Skyrim HD 2k packs, RCRN (with dense volumetric fog), Enhanced Lighting, Ultra Realistic World Lighting, Project Reality, HD Fire, Enhanced Blood, WATER, Wet and Cold, Open Cities, Amidian retextures, Immersive Armors/Weapons, Get Snowy, HD Rocks and Mountains, 101 Bugs, SkyBirds, Birds of Skyrim, Birds and Flocks, SkyTest...you get the picture.

However, I ran into huge trouble after messing with my Configurator (and no, I didn't back up my .ini -.-).

1) Game looking gorgeous and mods doing awesome

2) Tick the 'Ultra' box in Shadows settings in Configurator

3) Load game (in Riverwood Trader) and extremely INSANELY laggy

4) Get scared shitless, quit and switch Configurator back to orginial settings

5) Load to the same save and still a bunch of lag (better than with Ultra though)

6) Deactivate all my mods in NMM and delete RCRN

7) Game is kinda laggy on medium-high settings with trouble loading distant buildings and textures

8 ) Reinstall Skyrim through Steam and still having issues... still on MEDIUM settings and no mods (maybe it synced with cloud and saved prefs?)

9) Install ATTK Power Loader and still no better. Hi Algo Boost didn't work either

BOSS:

-Lots of these Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev}}

-A few of these Warning: Original file was released before the CK (07 Feb. 2012) a compatibility patch fixed and cleaned with TES5Edit can be obtained here. (Compatibility Patch)

-And a couple of these to top it off Contains dirty edits: 52 ITM, 1 UDR records. Needs TES5Edit cleaning. (Cleaning guide)

Getting quite a few TraceLog Errors when trying to install mods now too. wtf are these things?

just a side note here: When I reinstalled Skyrim via steam I didn't uninstall my NMM. It ended up having all the old mods I had from my previous install. I eventually reinstalled a revised list of mods(below) but there's still lots of lag in forests, caves and cities.

I'm really not sure where I went wrong, but I swear to god it all changed after messing with the Ultra Shadows on Configurator. One would think a fresh install of Skyrim and all the mods would fix it, but no.... I'm wondering if I created a bunch of corrupt files or maybe my RAM got clogged and needs a defrag(tips on defragging would be awesome, because I have no idea how)

I'm running an i5-3570k and an MSI GTX 560 TI on an ASUS P8Z77-V Pro soaked in 16GB DDR3 Corsair goodness, for those of you who are curious.
