Deleted472477User
I would say a credit to the modder, the mod's name, and the link from where you downloaded it in the description. Since it's pretty much free publicity, I don't think too many modders would mind! It wouldn't hurt to ask beforehand, though.
Hickory
You should definitely ask beforehand, if only as a matter of courtesy. Remember, some people do not like publicity, as odd as that may sound. Some people may not like the style of presentation, etc. Ask first.
scarycave
A guy on Youtube did an Lp on my Trials of the Nine quest that I made for Elderscrollsfan without permission - but I was okay with it. If someone puts the time out to play your mod on Youtube than I think its okay as long as they have a link for the mod somewhere and don't claim it as their own mod. To be safe though, I would agree with others that you might want to ask first to be safe.
Aurasoma
Ask before had if you can. A number of people have gone from Nexus recently, Moving on to other games or this thing called life. I had wanted to get NEC's permission originally when I made a CM partner and released it on to the nexus. How ever since I never got a reply, I opted to credit NEC and the other moders in both the readme and description. But the fact is that you always give credit to the original mod when you use it for your work. In fact when you down load one of Apachii's store mods, you will find a folder of the original readme's. As for a youtobe video I'd include the author names and mod title in your description if not the links to mods you used. This will save you both time and spam later when people start IMing you about the barrels seen in the back ground at 3:26 to 3:31. Not that people will IM you about barrels, I think. JCP768
I think the key point is "ads". Have you already tried it? because it's kind of weird how it works. I mean not only do you need Bethesda's permission, but you also need the mod makers permission and if you add any music or anything you need permission for that and blah blah blah. I tried it out with some of my videos. 3 were cinematics from a game, and I also tried it with 1 mod trailer and 1 video walkthrough for the same mod. The cinematic were approved for monetization, but the mod videos weren't. Granted I have seen a lot of videos where mod content has ads and others where video game videos have ads all while not being hosted by the developer or mod maker. Maybe ask around on some youtube forums, legal forms, or ad revenue forums
