valenp
Hi all, Thus far I only installed a few mods bij manually installing them.As I'm starting to lose sight of which mods I use I was contemplating using the NMM for my future mod dowloads. However, will NMM automatically recognise the mods I already installed manually? (including stuff like just texture file mods etc) Thanks! Edited January 8, 2013 by valenp
LargeStyle
I'm afraid it won't recognise your current non-NMM installed mods. NMM only reads mods that are within its designated mod folder (where the Nexus website downloads the mods into) and displays them within the application ready for you to add / update / remove mods that NMM has already dealt with. I suppose you could track down the Nexus mod pages for each mod that you've installed and reinstall the mods on top of themselves and it may remove them properly when you disable them. Ultimately though, IMHO it's best to just use NMM from the start and let it do all the work. EDIt: Thinking about it more, if you have mods which are purely .esp files that are located in Skyrims Data folder, then these will be recognised within NMMs plugins list. Also if you have a mod where there is also a .bsa file (like some texture mods have) then this will be usable as long as there's an .esp for that mod too. Basically, it's really "loose files" - the files you've manually installed within Skyrims folder structure are the only things that are going to be undetectable. Rooker75
Copy each mod and anything associated with it (.esps, textures, scripts, etc) into a new folder named DATA (including subfolders like data\meshes, data\interface, etc.), then Zip the folder. Use NMM's "Add mod from file" option to install it. Repeat until all your mods are being handled by NMM.
